He's a Woman She's a Man
Helloween Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I saw it walkin' lonely down the street
Cool like the cat, like crazy dream
I looked twice again, I can't believe
It turned around right then
And looked at me
I said oh no, it really couldn't be
It was a man, it was a woman, too
He's a woman, she's a man
He's a woman, she's a (woman)

I think it really came from far away
I'm feeling head uptight so I have to stay
It takes my hand and says come on, let's go
We're goin' home, she asked me to stay
He starts to move, she starts to play
I need a body, why not you

He's a woman, she's a man
He's a woman, she's a (woman)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Helloween's song "He's a Woman She's a Man" are full of interesting twists and turns. The song begins with the singer seeing someone walking down the street who appears to be both a man and a woman. The lyrics describe this person as cool and dreamlike, making it clear that the singer is both intrigued and confused by them. As the person turns and looks at the singer, the confusion only grows deeper.

Despite the initial shock, the person begins to lead the singer away from the crowded street and towards their home. As they walk, the singer's head starts to spin from the strange situation. However, the mysterious person takes their hand and begins to playfully move and dance around. At this point, the lyrics become more sexual in nature, with the singer expressing a desire for the person's body.

The song as a whole seems to be exploring themes of sexuality and fluidity. The lyrics play with the idea of a person who is both male and female, challenging traditional gender roles and expectations. At the same time, the song also touches on themes of desire and attraction, exploring the ways in which people can be drawn to one another despite their differences.

Overall, "He's a Woman She's a Man" is a complex and intriguing song that plays with these themes in a playful and compelling way.

Probably Scorpions' most metal song, and a terrific version by Helloween.

The Sails of Charon is up there as well... Virgin Killer... Dark Lady... Another Piece of Meat... Don't Make No Promises... Blackout.. Now.... Dyamite.... We Let It Rock.... Hit Between the Eyes.... but it's definitely one of their heavier ones. Most of the songs that were co-written by Herman were true stories about him chasing tail and the strange things that he'd get himself into. One dimensional lyrics and drumming. But they're the songs many Fans look forward to hearing. I have nothing against the guy... but Scorps shows got better when he left in 96.
