El Palomo
Helmut Lotti Lyrics

The lyrics of Helmut Lotti's El Palomo describe the courtship ritual of a male pigeon trying to seduce a female pigeon. The singer marvels at how the male pigeon holds himself with confidence as he arrives at the female pigeon's house, opening his wings in a show of bravado. As he approaches the female, he coos a gentle song of love, expressed through the repeated phrase "tu ruru, tu ruru, tu rururu." The two pigeons connect in a romantic way, despite the distance between them, as they gently caress one another.
The song is a beautiful depiction of the simple yet profound act of courtship in the natural world. It is a loving ode to the male pigeon's bravery and the magic of love between two creatures. The repeated phrase "tu ruru, tu ruru, tu rururu" adds to the song's charm, as it captures the simplicity and purity of the pigeons' love.
