Herb Alpert Solidifies the Jazzy,Funky,Rhythmic Sound
of the Late '70s,"BIG '80s Era.
While "RISE"may gotten more Notoriety, "ROTATION" has Al-
ways been MY Personal Favor-
ite,and what a "Most Pleasant Surprise"to find a "REMIX"!!!
I'd never heard the 2nd version
Which is "EVEN FUNKIER"than
the Original.!!! So Glad That l

I was fortunate enough to grow up with a father who learned to play the trumpet at an early age and mastered it through his life. He was in many big bands and played a lot of jazz throughout my preteen years the late 70s. There was nothing like waking up on a Saturday morning and hearing him walk down the hallway playing this song to absolute perfection. Herb Alpert was one of his favorites, along with Maynard Ferguson and Chuck Mangione. At any given time he would switch up between the three artists and play the songs as though he wrote them himself. I grew up thinking everyone's dad was that talented. I'd give anything to go back in time 40 years for just one hour to hear him play....I miss you Dad.

Played this album constantly as a 14 year old, and felt enchanted. This song always brings me right back to the late 70's. The styles, the shoes, the clothes, the cars, the clubs...GOD I loved it!!!!
