Yet his most notable achievment on the Billboard charts was as a solo artist. He is the only artist to hit #1 on a vocal track "This Guy's In Love With You" and an instrumental, "Rise".
Alpert's musical accomplishments include five number one hits, twenty-eight albums on the Billboard charts, eight Grammy Awards, fourteen Platinum albums and fifteen Gold albums. As of 1996, Alpert had sold 72 million albums worldwide.
He was also the founder, along with Jerry Moss, of the legendary, artist-oriented record label, A&M Records.
A couple of the greatest artists of the 60's and 70's that he got to shine on A&M records were The Carpenters and Natalie Cole.

@@vintrodiva2216 You need the app. It's on there year-round. It may be 3° out there, but in here it's a balmy 78° and smoooooth.
There was a point where I kept getting shuffled to different trucks and it was such a headache needing to call and have them move my subscription from one unit to another. I got the app thinking, "I'll just use the three free months, they give that out like candy on Halloween." But the very next day they needed ne to sign in. I did and never moved my account again.
