My parents had this album in the 60s, my dad's a real estate broker most of my life but a great musician from jazz to Christian music and in between, he plays the saxaphone, flute, drums, piano and conga drums and sings, all of my life, I grew up with a lot of music and dancing, his musician friends to his business friends, the only sports in the house was baseball! Lol Fun memories and all of of us kids play instruments, dance and sing too! 😁

When I was 4 or 5 I was crazy about this song. It was the theme song for either the Sandy Becker show or the Sonny Fox show on channel 5 in NYC on WNEWTV. When I heard this played on the radio all the way through I freaked out.

I wish I knew her! She should still be alive. I read somewhere that she was 28 in 1965 when this album came out, which would make her 75 this year.

I just found it out recently, but as billy said, its not suprising, it was usually the same group of musicians on pretty much everything that rolled out of California during that time period. Check out Carols page to really get blown away by how many sessions she did and who she played for.

@THeMaskedBlogCritic So, did Carol do the bass work for the whole Whipped album, or just certain songs, do you know? I ask partly because the bass line isn't very prominent at all on "Butterball," but on "A Taste of Honey" and "Lollipops 'n' Roses," it's easy to follow the bass line because it's right out there.

Her name is Dolores Erickson. She was several months pregnant , had a bikini on, with the shoulder straps pushed down, and its all shaving cream , because under the lights real cream gets runny and smells, but it was real cream on her finger and hair. its one of the best album covers done in the 60's and 70's. This pic was done in 1965

@billyjoeboomboom Wasn't this recorded when the Tijuana Brass were all still session players? Herb didn't assemble "the" Tijuana Brass until '65, but guys like Pisano were carried over from the session days.

She's Delores Erickson--three months prego when this album cover was shot. The only whipped cream in this picture is on her finger--the rest is shaving cream because real whipped cream melts too fast under the hot studio lighting.

@poitrenaud I would estimate she is now 70 as this album was release 47 years ago (1965) and were she 23 at that time. Kinda puts a damper on the ants in my pants.

Yes, and when I bought this album the booklet that came with it explained that she actually had a dress on underneath the whipped cream, but at the time of this recording's release the cover was controversial.
