I'll Never Dance Again
Herman's Hermits Lyrics

And your lips were sayin' that we won't dance apart
Now someone else is holding you the way I did then
So I'll never, no I'll never, never dance again
Oh I've danced with others just to show I don't care
But my arms discovered that the thrill wasn't there
Unless my arms are holding you the way I did thenSo I'll never, no I'll never, never dance again
I'll stay off the dance floor till memories grow dim
'Cause my heart would break to see you take every step with him
I'll survive seein' ya sighin' on that shoulder of his
Oh how I've been cryin' knowin' how sweet that is
So while that guy is holding you the way I did then
I will never, no no I'll never never dance again oh I'll never
No, darlin' no I will never no no I'll never never dance again
No, darlin' no I will never no no I'll never never dance again
Say baby no I will never
Whoa I'll never never dance again
Hey baby no I will never no I'll never never dance again
No baby no I will never
The lyrics to Herman's Hermits's song "I'll Never Dance Again" express the pain and heartbreak felt by the singer after seeing his former dance partner with someone else. The song opens with a description of the intense connection felt between the singer and his partner while they were dancing. He felt his "soul swayin'" to the rhythm of her heart and her lips told him they wouldn't dance apart. However, now another man holds her the way he used to and the singer declares that he will never dance again.
The second verse finds the singer attempting to move on by dancing with other partners, but he quickly realizes that the thrill is gone without his former dance partner in his arms. He knows that he could never handle seeing her with another man on the dance floor, as it would break his heart. The chorus repeats the declaration that he will never dance again and drives home the pain and finality of the situation.
The third verse reveals that the singer has seen his former partner in the arms of another man, causing him to cry and realize the sweetness of their former dancing. He knows that he could never match the feelings of seeing her with someone else and decides to swear off dancing entirely. The song ends with a definitive and final vow to never dance again.
Overall, "I'll Never Dance Again" is a powerful portrayal of heartbreak and loss. The lyrics describe the intense emotions experienced by the singer as he tries to move on from his former dance partner. The song is both wistful and defiant, as the singer tries to come to terms with his feelings.

Dear Rex,.. Colminas
Only for people like you, can a man enjoy nice love music from the early
to late 60's. As I'm 62, many Herman's Hermits songs I know. But, to listen
to this collection, unknown to most, its a fine collection of Herman's music.
You Spanish folk, in my experience, have always posted the best stuff on
this site. A man named Hecter put up the most amazing Rory Gallagher that
I've ever listened to ever. But, I'd like to just give thanks that you had the abuility
to do this kind of thing. Nice love music

I was brought up starting in the 1950's. I remember much of the music from the 50's through the 60's and so-on. I listen to a lot of the older music from my young years. For me it is the real classic type music.

my dad used to play this song since I was child (as often as played "tell laura", "nobody's child", "story book children", "I dont like to sleep alone by paul anka, "he's my brother by the hollies, "a single girl" and so on) so that it's familiar for me to listen this song until now and I do love retro songs...they're everlasting...
