MEMORY
Hero Pattern Lyrics

I've been dreaming, screaming out your name
I've been scraping, trying to make up the rent
Busy searching for some money that i already spent
But i just can't relax you see
Cuz you're not coming back to me
Guess you're only a memory to me now
But there's so little left of me to go around
Cuz i've been feeling like you don't wanna know
Like every second now i'm under attack
Like i'm breathing for a feeling that's just not coming back
But i just can't relax you see
Cuz you're not coming back to me
Guess you're only a memory to me now
But there's so little left of me to go around
Without you i've got nothing to do around here
But it's clear that you're only a memory now
But there's nothing to do 'round here
Since you disappeared
And i just can't relax
Cuz you're not coming back
The lyrics of Hero Pattern's Memory touch on themes of loss, nostalgia, and the struggle to move on from a past relationship. The opening lines, "I've been living in a picture frame, I've been dreaming, screaming out your name," suggest that the singer is constantly consumed by memories of their past lover, to the point where they feel trapped and unable to move forward. This sense of entrapment is further emphasized in the line "I've been scraping, trying to make up the rent, busy searching for some money that I already spent," which suggests that the singer is struggling to keep up with the present demands of life because they are too preoccupied with their memories.
The chorus, "Guess you're only a memory to me now, but there's so little left of me to go around," reinforces the singer's sense of loss and heartbreak. They are painfully aware that their ex-lover is no longer a part of their life, but their memories are still taking up emotional and mental space, leaving them with very little energy to focus on anything else.
In the second verse, the singer contemplates the possibility of letting go of their memories and their ex-lover altogether. They feel like they are under constant attack from their memories and the pain of the breakup, and they are desperate to move on. However, despite their desire to let go, they find it impossible to relax because their ex-lover is still not coming back.
Overall, Hero Pattern's Memory is a poignant and relatable exploration of the aftermath of a breakup and the ongoing struggle to let go and move forward.
