Is it strange
Hey Lyrics

I still need a quiet place to go
Oh I really know
That some of you don't understand
And I wish, I could live
In the dream, oh yes I do
I want to be as big
I sing this song
Because I love a man
Tell me is it strange
That I do not hope to turn again
And I wish
that I could find
A way to peace
Oh, the kind
That lasts eternally
Hey's song "Is it Strange" seems to be an ode to the singer's own desires and struggles for peace and understanding. The lyrics suggest that the singer is searching for a world of her own, a quiet retreat from the chaos of the outside world. She recognizes, however, that not everyone will be able to relate to her desire for solitude and her struggles in the external world.
The lyric "I really know that some of you don't understand" suggests the isolation and disconnect she feels from those around her, who may not be able to empathize with the challenges she faces. She dreams of being "as big as a mountain," suggesting the emotional and physical strength she wishes to attain to face these challenges.
Another interesting layer to the song is the mention of a man that the singer loves. The lyrics suggest that he may be a source of comfort and peace, but she questions whether it is "strange" that she does not hope to "turn again" - a vague reference to changing her outlook or perspective, perhaps.
Ultimately, the song seems to be a meditation on the complexity of the human experience - the desire for peace and escape, coupled with the need for connection and love. The singer seems to be grappling with the balance between these two things, and the difficulty of finding true contentment.

"I wanna be as big as a mountain..."
