1) Poland's popular music act of the 1990s. The band was founded in Szczecin, Poland in 1992 by guitarist Piotr Banach and charismatic lead singer Kasia Nosowska.
Although Hey sometimes described themselves as Poland's first grunge band, their melodic, guitar-driven rock and eclectic appearance owed more to New Wave and heavy metal influences; their first three albums contained songs in both Polish and English. During the band's mid-1990s heyday, they sold out stadiums throughout Poland, and attempted to break into the English-language market with a series of concerts overseas and an English version of their 1995 album. When this failed to arouse interest, the band began to write in Polish only, and gradually adopted a harder-edged, more industrial-influenced sound.
2) A Korean female singer who had a hit called "Je t'aime", recorded in both Korean and French. She has released three albums so far, her latest being recorded in 2008. Little is known about the Korean Hey, but she is still active and promoting the latest EP. See 해이.
3) Only German project of heyrec label (see [[http://heyrec.org]]) is represented at Last.fm with its tune of "Hey - Sans Toi".
4) Japanese video game developer, Shohei Yuki (ユキ ショウヘイ). He composed FM Synth music for his games. Capitalization of the name for this artist is 'HEY'.
Umieraj stąd
Hey Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
bierz co Twoje i won!
w zaświaty, gdzie zmory
gdzie strzygi, upiory
gdzie zimno i wieje
gdzie głodno i mrok!
umieraj stąd!
wysyczano mi wprost
golone trawniki
płakałam do wewnątrz
dyskretna po kość
miałam dom
gdzie to było?
tam gdzie Odra, port
dźwigozaurów rząd
było tak niemożliwie nam
nasączałeś mnie pewnością
jak
likierem biszkopt
umieraj stąd!...
drobnych spraw korzonkami
wrastaliśmy w grunt
czas przygarbiał nas
Odra, port, dźwigozaurów rząd
nasączyłeś mnie jak gąbkę
dziś
goryczy octem
umieraj stąd!...
The lyrics to "Umieraj stąd" by Hey express a sense of desperation and a desire to escape from a place that has become suffocating and oppressive. The song begins with the repeated command to "umieraj stąd" or "die from here", a call to leave behind everything that is holding the singer back and move on to something new. The subsequent verses describe the world that the singer wants to escape from - a place of nightmares and darkness, where hunger and cold are constant companions.
The second verse reveals that the singer used to have a home in this place, perhaps suggesting that they have been there for a long time and that the ties that bind them to this place are difficult to break. However, the memories of this home are bittersweet - it was a place of security and certainty, but it was also a place where the singer felt trapped and unable to grow. The imagery used in the song is often stark and unsettling, with references to ghosts, monsters, and shorn lawns creating a sense of unease.
Overall, "Umieraj stąd" is a song about the desire for escape and the difficulty of leaving behind the things that are familiar but ultimately harmful. It captures the tension between the need for safety and the need for adventure, and suggests that sometimes the only way to move forward is to leave everything behind.
