1) Poland's popular music act of the 1990s. The band was founded in Szczecin, Poland in 1992 by guitarist Piotr Banach and charismatic lead singer Kasia Nosowska.
Although Hey sometimes described themselves as Poland's first grunge band, their melodic, guitar-driven rock and eclectic appearance owed more to New Wave and heavy metal influences; their first three albums contained songs in both Polish and English. During the band's mid-1990s heyday, they sold out stadiums throughout Poland, and attempted to break into the English-language market with a series of concerts overseas and an English version of their 1995 album. When this failed to arouse interest, the band began to write in Polish only, and gradually adopted a harder-edged, more industrial-influenced sound.
2) A Korean female singer who had a hit called "Je t'aime", recorded in both Korean and French. She has released three albums so far, her latest being recorded in 2008. Little is known about the Korean Hey, but she is still active and promoting the latest EP. See 해이.
3) Only German project of heyrec label (see [[http://heyrec.org]]) is represented at Last.fm with its tune of "Hey - Sans Toi".
4) Japanese video game developer, Shohei Yuki (ユキ ショウヘイ). He composed FM Synth music for his games. Capitalization of the name for this artist is 'HEY'.
What About Me
Hey Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
My wife is coming back"
My nerves are bad tonight
So please stay with me dear
Why do you never speak?
What do you thinking of?
"I'm thinking of the wind
The wind under the door"
My son is screaming
I love my son..."
The opening lines of Hey's song "What About Me" introduce a sense of urgency and vulnerability. The singer implores their partner to stay with them because they are nervous and need support while their wife is away. The partner remains silent, prompting the singer to wonder what they are thinking. When the partner finally does speak, it is to explain that they cannot stay because their child is in distress and needs them.
The lyrics convey a complex mix of emotions - longing, fear, love, and a sense of helplessness. The singer desperately wants to be comforted, but the partner's attention is divided between them and their child. The line "I'm thinking of the wind" suggests that the partner is struggling to stay focused on the conversation, perhaps because their mind is preoccupied by the needs of their family.
Overall, the lyrics to "What About Me" are a poignant exploration of the complexities of human relationships, particularly when they are tested by external pressures and competing priorities.

Wow! I've never heard this version which is obviously the original by her. I always liked the later version and have it on 45. A very underrated lady in my opinion.

This is Anne's first recording of this song on Anne's first LP (1968) entitled What About Me on ARC records
@kfm908
she sold 50 million records!
@robertorick6383
This was from 1968 on Arc/Ahed/Yorkville Records of Canada, all labels owned by producer Brian Ahern. Pickwick Records of the US, a budget label, issued this version of "What About Me" on an album in 1971. Capitol's "live' version was from 1973, and was a chart hit in both US and Canada. Anne was a former gym teacher at the time in 1968 when she decided to take up a singing career. She's been in the music business for nearly 55 years.
@Vinnie3006
It's one of my favourites of Ann Murray's. Was specially played on my 25th birthday. Aww the Good Old days! Unforgettable 😍
@peteremberly
Years ago in PEI, when this song first came out as a regional hit in the maritimes, I was the warm-up act for a concert Anne did in Charlottetown. She was very gracious and encouraging. Maybe she knew this would be my only claim to musical fame.
@rlbunce
CKLW in Windsor, ONT played it back in the day... covered the Detroit metro area...
@robertorick6383
@Are Buntz You are correct. CKLW played both the 1968 and 1973 live versions. This got Anne some first time attention in the US. "Snowbird" on Capitol Records from 1970 was the first breakthrough hit.
@lilylane4246
When I was a little kid, my Mom hounded me a lot to sing snowbird for her friends. Lol..She adored Anne Murray.and several of her albums.
@jackflash5659
Richard Hancox, that's a wonderful story. Anne is not only an iconic singer she's a Canadian treasure.
