Kourkoutis’ musical history began with formal training with the Royal Conservatory of Music Canada in guitar, piano and vocal performance. As an accomplished musician, she also plays bass and drums. Hill was a part of an array of musical projects, including the alternative/pop/rock duo Drowning Girl, that allowed her to release multiple records and tour before pursuing her current solo project, “Hill and the Sky Heroes”.
As a live session musician, Kourkoutis has also had the honour of playing guitar, bass and/or keyboards for Tara Slone (formerly of Joydrop/Rockstar: INXS), Simon Wilcox, Graph Nobel, Hunter Valentine and Andrea Wasse, to name a few. This collective of pursuits granted her the opportunity to tour North America, receive radio play both on independent and standard radio and led to appearances on television.
As a songwriter, Kourkoutis is the recipient of multiple awards (Canadian Radio Star Award, International Songwriting Competition and the USA Songwriting competition). She has also had the opportunity to take part in writing camps (Canadian Idol, SAC) and she continues to write for up and coming artists. Kourkoutis has had the opportunity to work alongside some of Canada’s most diverse and respected writers including Lisa Dalbello (Patti Labelle/Heart/Duran Duran), Rob Wells (Backstreet Boys/Olivia Newton-John/Cyndi Lauper), Jeff Dalziel (Prozzak/Edwin), Robbie Patterson (Snow/Billy Klippert), Simon Wilcox (Three Days Grace/Projet Orange), Stuart Cameron (Shaye/Amanda Marshall), Martin “Doc” McKinney (Esthero, Hawksley Workman), Tino Zolfo (Soul Decision), Adrian Eccleston (Nelly Furtado/Kylie Minogue), Martha Johnson (of Martha and the Muffins) and Mark Makoway (Moist/Sarah Slean), to name a few. Her co-writes have also been recorded by up and coming artists such as Hunter Valentine, Dane Hartsell, Katelyn Dawn and Mercy the Sexton.
Most recently, Kourkoutis has branched out from being a songwriter and live musician and began producing demos or full length records for artists such as Drowning Girl, Graph Nobel, Hunter Valentine, Mercy the Sexton, Gwendolyn Lewis and various other projects in development.
In addition to her musical ventures, at the age of sixteen Kourkoutis was hired to play in “No Man’s Land” as the silent but insightful drummer Megan, on the hit teen series “Radio Free Roscoe” (Noggin/The Family Channel). This experience supported by childhood desire to capture the absurdities and stories of life on film propelled Kourkoutis towards her studies at Ryerson University where she completed a BFA in Film Studies. Before graduating, Hill signed on as a director with Toronto-based production company The Field and has since directed music videos for such artists as Tara Slone, Serena Ryder, Canadian Idol winner Theo Tams and Mother Mother.
Hill continues to progress and thrive in both music and film industries in the pursuit of uncovering the mysteries of life and the struggle with being human. Stay tuned for the best is yet to come.

Wanna be by your side I can't do with no commitment
All about the Low Life I can't deal with no emotions
All we do is fight you always think about our future
If you can't keep up I guess it's time this shit is over
Baby why you trying to do it like this
Got me stressed about the things that I can't fix
Always talk about the things we can't build
I ain't worried bout my faith baby you've been faithless
Don't trust another girl baby I've been heartless
I can't fuck with you girl I can't keep up with your standards
With your standards
She's got a plan, she want me to meet her fam
She's got a bag, she down to share with me
She wanna go, get a ring to propose
Babe understand, I can't really be your man
Can't really be you man
Can't really be you man
Can't really be you man
Can't really be you man
This situation got me feeling coup'd with emotions
I've been feeling lonely so I drown myself with potions
Act like I don't know you while I'm downing couple sojus
You've been acting different and I start to miss the old you
Damn I've been here before, you left me cuz I'm poor
Don't lie to me sweetie, I see through you ain't shit
You surprised I'm different, not tryna have a friendship
Don't tag me shit or mention, my name is off your friend list
Go find a dude who's basic
Go find a dude who's basic
She's got a plan, she want me to meet her fam
She's got a bag, she down to share with me
She wanna go, get a ring to' propose
Babe understand, I can't really be your man
Can't really be you man
Can't really be you man
Can't really be you man
Can't really be you man
No one's man yea, alone I stand yea
No one's man yea, alone I stand yea
No one's man yea alone I stand
Thought you were my biggest fan
You were lying that's your plan yea
But now I'm with my gang
My place is where we hang
You chat shit then get banged
We cook shit damn that bangs
We've been moving for some time
Watch this space see us climb
To the top never stop
Cut us off you gone get dropped
I'm not bragging I'm just honest
We're the best in the business
Look at us be the witness
You be begging for forgiveness
Remember the name we not the same
This ain't a game just stay in your lane
Now I'm focused on my task
Why I'm quiet you may ask
I've been working in silence
2020 is my entrance bitch
The song "No Man's Land" by Hill and the Sky Heroes talks about a tumultuous relationship between two people who can't seem to make it work. The singer can't commit and is only interested in the low life, while the other person is focused on building a future together. The two argue constantly, and the singer can't keep up with their partner's standards. The chorus drives home the point that the singer can't really be the other person's man, and that they need to move on.
The verses of the song explore the emotional baggage that both partners carry. The singer feels overwhelmed by their emotions and tries to drown them with alcohol, while also feeling betrayed by their partner's changing behavior. On the other hand, their partner is frustrated with the singer's lack of commitment and tries to push them towards building a life together, even going so far as to invite them to meet their family and propose.
Overall, the song delves into the complexities of modern relationships and the difficulties that arise when two people want different things. It also touches on themes of self-worth and the importance of setting boundaries. The singer recognizes that they can't meet their partner's expectations and, rather than pretending, they choose to be honest and walk away.
