The lyrics deal with a singer describing his feelings when his assumed ex-girlfriend calls him late at night. They are both in relationships at the time; however, the singer tells of how his feelings are still predominantly with her, and it seems hers are also still with him. More than once, a reference to the call being secret is made, and the singer expresses concern of a fight ensuing as a result. The song concludes just as it began, with the singer questioning to why she is calling so late.
Lips Of An Angel
Hinder Lyrics

It's kinda hard to talk right now
Honey, why you crying, is everything okay?
I gotta whisper 'cause I can't be too loud
Well, my girl's in the next room
Sometimes I wish she was you
I guess we never really moved on
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words, it makes me weak
And I never wanna say goodbye
But, girl, you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
It's funny that you're calling me tonight
And, yes, I've dreamt of you too
And does he know you're talking to me?
Will it start a fight?
No, I don't think she has a clue
Well, my girl's in the next room
Sometimes I wish she was you
I guess we never really moved on
It's really good to hear your voice saying my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words, it makes me weak
And I never wanna say goodbye
But, girl, you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
It's really good to hear your voice saying my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words, it makes me weak
And I never wanna say goodbye
But, girl, you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
And I never wanna say goodbye
But, girl, you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
Honey, why you calling me so late?
The song "Lips of an Angel" by Hinder is a ballad that tells the story of a man who unexpectedly receives a phone call from an ex-lover late at night. Despite being in a committed relationship with another woman, he finds himself drawn to his former flame’s voice. The singer's partner is in the next room, adding a layer of guilt and shame to the conversation. The lyrics explore the complicated, conflicting emotions that come with unresolved romantic feelings and the difficulty of staying faithful when temptations arise.
The opening lines of the song set the scene for the rest of the lyrics. The woman, who is presumably the singer’s ex-girlfriend, is calling him late at night, which immediately creates a sense of tension and urgency. The singer asks why she’s calling so late and if everything is okay, highlighting his concern for her and suggesting that their past relationship ended on a relatively friendly note. However, he has to lower his voice and speak in whispers, indicating that he's trying to conceal the conversation from his current partner.
The chorus of "Lips of an Angel" is the most memorable part of the song. The singer describes the pleasure of hearing his lover’s voice again, and how it brings back powerful memories of their time together. He acknowledges that he still has feelings for her, but also feels torn by his commitment to his current partner. The chorus emphasizes the idea of temptation and the struggle to remain faithful, encapsulating the complicated emotions and relationships that the lyrics explore.

Hidden meaning: The girl in black and white footage is dead , his
talking to himself on the phone. He puts his mind in a delusional
scenario where he dumped her for another girl, and she's with another
man because its easier for him to think of her death this way.
He can't handle the fact that she's dead.
There are many indications for this:
1) The candles in the video clip seems important, candles usually
symbolize funeral and grief.
2) The name of the song "lips of an angel", people who die are refferred
to as angels by their loved ones, meaning that they died and became
angels.
3) For the people who are wondering " how come the blond girl doesn't hear him
on the phone? ". The most likely scenario : the new girlfriend knows that
his hallucinating, she knows his imagining things. Talking to his dead girlfriend on the phone. She knows that this is not a real phone call. Just notice her looks, she's not angry at him ? she looks jealous of course but not angry ? why is that ? She seems worried about him, she wants to make him forget but she's failing.
4) The picture on his desk, when people die you keep
their pictures right ? Otherwise why would he have this picture ? why keep a
picture of his ex while living with his new girlfriend ? isn't he
afraid that his blond girlfriend will see it ?
5) Song lyrics : " LET HER DIE DON'T WANT TO SAY GOODBYE " he
doesn't want to say goodbye. His ready to feed himself anything to justify her absence. Anything ! He doesn't want to acknowledge that she's dead.
.... his state of mind is so focused to make this fiction real, that he
even got the audience to believe that this a typical love
triangle about unfaithfulness and betrayal. He got you to believe his
dellusions, so it can be as real as possible. but THE TRUTH : SHE'S
DEAD.
"its funny that you're calling me tonight" : its funny because this the
same day she died. It's the anniversary of her death.
This interpretation makes the song more romantic, it's about the love you have for someone who died. He's not unfaithful he's actually very loyal to the girlfriend who died. Just look at his face expression his in severe emotional pain.
