The band is notably influenced both by 90s post-grunge as well as by 80s dirty hard rock and glam metal, with several critics noting their debt to Guns n' Roses. Cut to almost five years later after Winkler met the guys, and Hinder built a healthy regional following. They released an independent album, titled 'Far From Close', which sold out several thousands of copies. The band was the object of an honest-to-goodness bidding war between three different major labels that resulted in its major label debut, titled 'Extreme Behavior', coming out to much commercial success in 2005.
True to the group's origins in Austin Winkler's cover band, Hinder has released several covers of songs that have inspired the band. Examples include "Bed of Roses" (by Bon Jovi), "Born to be Wild" (by Steppenwolf), "Take Me Home Tonight" (by Eddie Money), and "Thunderstruck" (by AC/DC). Their debut album included the huge hit (and perhaps their best known original song) "Lips Of An Angel", and said album has been triple-platinum certified by the RIAA.
Although receiving mixed to negative critical reviews for 'Extreme Behavior', setting up a pattern for them as being critical whipping boys, "Lips of an Angel" was a rock smash. It topped both the Top 40 Pop Radio Chart and the Digital Download Chart, also putting the group on the top of multiple radio, video and digital charts including Yahoo, iTunes, and MSN. Facing near impossible expectations put on them, with rambunctious live performances stoking the flames, Hinder's sophomore album, 'Take It To The Limit', proved somewhat of a commercial disappointment by comparison. However, the group still moved hundreds of thousands of records and featured a strong glam metal-esque sound that many fans loved.
The band was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2007. After the release of 'Take It To The Limit' in 2008 and 'All American Nightmare' in 2010, though, issues between frontman Winkler and the rest of the band had taken their toll. Finally, on November 20, 2013, it was announced via Loudwire that the band had parted ways with Winkler, the statement saying that there was no animosity towards him but that they just felt it was time to move on. The former Hinder singer has had struggles placing him in rehab before. Saving Abel’s Jared Weeks has often played with the re-jiggered group, and their future is somewhat uncertain though with more studio material promised as of early 2015 (with ex-producer Marshal Dutton being their current singer).

Paste
Hinder Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Is there a point to get ahead and the fall just wasn't the end?
Take advantage of me, so you can better yourself
I didn't realise it, but now I'm by myself again
I'm by myself again, torn apart again
Well, nothing seems to paste me together
I'm all alone again, well I'm empty again
I still don't know what I will do
To stop the madness of me coming undo
Well, paste me together so that I can see
A whole lot further than just, well just in front of me
I'm by myself again, torn apart again
Well, nothing seems to paste me together (paste me)
I'm all alone again, well I'm empty again
Well, nothing seems to fill me up and paste me together
Paste me together (x2)
Paste me together so I can see
A whole lot further than just, well just in front of me
I'm by myself again, torn to shreds again
Well, nothing seems to paste me together (paste me)
I'm all alone again, well I'm empty again
Well, nothing seems to fill me up and paste me together
Paste me together (x2)
The lyrics of the song "Paste" by Hinder describe the struggles of a person who continually falls apart emotionally and mentally. The singer explains how he constantly feels alone and empty, and nothing seems to be able to fix him. He wonders if there is any point in trying to move forward when he just ends up falling again. The singer seems to have been taken advantage of by someone who only cared about bettering themselves, leaving him alone to pick up the pieces.
The chorus repeats the phrase "paste me together" as a plea for someone or something to help fix him. He acknowledges that he does not know how to stop the madness of him coming undone and is looking for a way to see further than just what is in front of him. The song portrays a sense of hopelessness and despair, with the singer desperately begging for someone to help him.
Overall, the lyrics of "Paste" convey the message that sometimes we need someone to help us put ourselves back together when we are broken. The singer yearns for someone to fix him so he can see beyond his pain and loneliness.

Both garbage. Thankfully Austin just released a single today called Superjaded. It's clear the classic Hinder sound is 100% Austin.
