@NoBrakes23

Possibly my favorite Armstrong song

@spencersmith2798

One of all Jazz’s most important recordings.

@johncoffin9354

Alto solo is Charlie Holmes, really state of the art for '29.
Recorded the day Armstrong returned to New York from Chicago. 'Knockin a Jug' was recorded while the rest of the band trailed in. 'I Can't Give You Anything but Love' took multiple takes, and the session ended with Mahogany Hall. Really stripped down from the chart, full sample of a REAL New Orleans rhythm section. Foster starts arco, then shifts to pizzicato and rides out in 'slap' mode. My favorite Armstrong track since I first heard it 45 years ago.

@Sagurasu

Absolutely great Louis! Also that Lonnie Johnson guitar!

@bobboscarato1313

Lonnie Johnson was the only survivor in a family of 18 children due to the flu epidemic of 1918. Tragic!

@Gangstagran

Louis was so ahead of his time. A true innovator and genius

@alexandermarquis6197

I love hearing me some Louis Armstrong it just brings back all sorts of strong pleasant memories

@JamesSterling

Wanna know why Pops was the best ever? All you have to do is listen to this.

@thardingau

Which Pops?

@JamesSterling

@@thardingau Well, since we are listening to Louis "Pops" Armstrong that should be your first clue.
