The song "Rays of Hope" by Hitomi starts with the phrase "akiramenaide" which means don't give up. The next line talks about how proud she is to have been born and raised in a city with high standards. Hitomi then mentions how her parents taught her to never forget courage. In the next section, she talks about how the person she is singing to has been hurt and lost their dreams, wandering alone in the darkness of their heart amidst the wind. However, she urges the person not to give up, as she is there for them.
The chorus emphasizes the importance of not giving up and has a positive outlook on the future. The next section describes the power of the raging storms and thunderbolts that strike fear into the hearts of people, even on the most stable of grounds. But even as they strike, there is always silence that follows. In the last line of the verse, Hitomi tells the person she is singing to not give up, and that she thinks of them with pride. The song ends with her reminding the person once again that she is there for them and not to give up.
