My team was incredible in this game and I'm sure everyone else's teams were incredible as well. This was my team:

Decidueye - My best friend from the very beginning of my Alola Journey and she was great whenever I sent her out for a battle. She's very hasty when came for her time to shine and the sun never failed to shine on her who spends her time out of her Poke Ball for that sun to shine on her once more.

Leaf Blade
Brave Bird
Spirit Shackle
Feather Dance

Toucannon - The first Pokémon I caught when I was given my Poké Balls and he was there when I needed him the most against Totem Lurantis when he was a Trumbeak. The Pokémon that spends most of his time out of his Poké Ball while he's on my shoulder breathing in that fresh air of Alola.

Beak Blast
Drill Peck
Bullet Seed
Brick Break

Lycanroc - The Pokémon who is determined to show how powerful he was against his opponents and spends most of his time out of his Poké Ball, where at times, he would train to become stronger than ever.

Stone Edge
Crunch
Accelerock
Scary Face

Alolan Ninetales - My adorable fluffy fox that helped me against Totem Kommo-o is the absolute beauty of my team. She was very shy when I first caught her as an Alolan Vulpix and she was absolutely terrified when I arrived at the Shady House, which was the location where I stumbled upon an Ice Stone. The moment Vulpix touched the Ice Stone, she evolved into Ninetales and felt capable of battling to protect herself while also enduring hits when she's close to falling to the ground, but she always manages to stay on her feet for her trainer. She spends her time in her Poké Ball to rest up from all of the battles she had succeeded in and she deserved it after helping me at the Pokémon League.

Ice Beam
Dazzling Gleam
Dark Pulse
Attract

Incineroar - The Pokémon who was the leader of my team after defeating the Totem Vikavolt as a Torracat. He acts as a gym trainer towards my Pokémon to see how everyone is doing during their training before the Pokémon League.

Cross Chop
Bulk Up
Darkest Lariat
Flare Blitz

Mudsdale - He was only a Mudbray when easily knocked out the Totem Salazzle and I kept him on my team ever since. He was the Pokémon I would be riding on while traveling through Alola after evolving into Mudsdale.

Earthquake
High Horsepower
Heavy Slam
Double Kick

IrishDroid Agreed. The whole twist that Diantha was the Champion just didn't go well for me and for those exact reasons you mentioned in your comment.

Plus by that point of the game, the Elite Four and the Champion are so easy, you literally steamroll their team (EXP Share in X and Y was so broken, I already had level 70 pokemon by then).

You could argue that Lance was kind of the same in GSC/HG and SS but given the fact that he is one of the most recognizable trainers in Pokemon, it's very forgivable. At least with Lance he actually did help to bring down Team Rocket.

Once I realized that all of the Elite 4 were four Kahunas you encountered throughout the game (except for Kahili who we had never seen before), I knew then and there that the Champion was the Professor himself which is a good thing. Who better to be your opponent than the one who helped you start your journey from the beginning. Plus unlike the previous professors except Sycamore, you know that Kukui is a very adept trainer having fought in Kanto.

Whilst I will still say Cynthia is still the strongest Pokemon League Champion I have fought, Kukui is definately not a pushover like Diantha. I'm very thankful that the fights were much more scaled up. Game Freak clearly realized that was a huge flaw with the last generation and rectified it with this one.

Since we're the first champion of Alola, this technically makes it our theme.

shiiiitttt...

Ace Detective

It does. You, the protagonist, already became the Champion of Alola the moment you defeated the Elite Four. Kukui was the first person to challenge you for the title, that's why in-game he was still referred to Professor Kukui, and not Champion Kukui.

That Lazy Warlock

Imagining you could make your own Champion battle themes and then streetpass others to fight each other's champion thrones

Zangelin

I mean it does sound like the main characters theme cause it sounds like a pokémon title screen theme.

Serv

I always thought this was our theme...

Considering Sun and Moon were made during the 20th anniversary of Pokemon. This theme hits so fucking hard. 20 years of Pokemon and you're the champion defending the title. Takes you back to your first pokemon game ever and you challenge your very first champion. Roles reversed is really something!

And now we can spam the full restores. Like the saying goes “You can’t be a champion without knowing how to spam full restores” -Lance 2015 Golder

EpicOwen564

this was my first pokemon game ever

Cube of Meat

Despite gameplay being debatable, Sun and Moon’s soundtrack is in my top 3 Pokemon game OST’s
