Espinas El Mal
Hocico Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

*spoken*

*

Y al final quien va entender?
Y al final quien va perder?

Overall Meaning

The spoken section at the beginning of Hocico's song Espinas El Mal sets the tone for the rest of the song - one of anger, pain, and confusion. The male speaker laments that his mother no longer loves him, and when the female speaker asks how he feels about it, he responds with a bitter "to hell with it!" He muses that perhaps his wife is not like his mother, or perhaps it's all just a matter of dirty sex. The twisted ties of blood and the twisted souls of mistakes are explored in the next stanza, as the song delves deeper into the themes of pain and violence. The flesh is alive and bleeding violence, and the thorns of evil pierce the skin. The singer sees the faces of those who bear these thorns, their words full of hatred and malice.

The final stanza takes on a more surreal tone, with descriptions of heavy breathing and bursting veins. The singer invites the soul of blood to take him away, feeling its anger and seeing its death. The spoken section that follows is even more disturbing, detailing a horrific act of violence that was done for sexual pleasure. The singer questions how many other stories he has heard about such animals before concluding that he knows nothing. The song ends on a note of uncertainty - who will understand in the end, and who will lose?

Overall, Espinas El Mal is a dark and intense song that explores the themes of violence, pain, and the twisted bonds of family relationships. Its lyrics are layered and full of disturbing imagery, making it a challenging but rewarding listen for fans of the industrial and electronic music genres.

@arthurspeedwarrior
