The band had a revolving line-up of bassists and drummers, their most prolific being drummer Patty Schemel, and bassists Kristen Pfaff (d. 1994) and Melissa Auf der Maur. In 2002 the group disbanded to pursue other projects. Eight years later in 2010, Hole was reformed by Love with new members, despite Erlandson's claim that the reformation breached a mutual contract he had with Love. The reformed band released the album Nobody's Daughter, which had originally been conceived as Love's second solo album. In 2013, Love retired the Hole name, releasing new material and touring as a solo artist.
Hole has been noted for being one of the most commercially successful female-fronted rock bands of all time, selling over three million records in the United States alone and having a far-reaching influence on contemporary female artists. Music and feminist scholars have also recognized the band as the most high-profile musical group of the 1990s to discuss gender issues in their songs, due to Love's aggressive and violent lyrical content, which often addressed themes of body image, abuse, and sexual exploitation.
Hole went on to become the most commercially successful female-fronted grunge band in history, selling over 3 million records in the United States between 1991 and 2010. In spite of Love's often polarizing reputation in the media, Hole received consistent critical praise for their output, and was often noted for the predominant feminist commentary found in Love's lyrics, which scholars have credited as "articulating a third-wave feminist consciousness". Love's subversive onstage persona and public image coincided with the band's songs, which expressed "pain, sorrow, and anger, but [an] underlying message of survival, particularly survival in the face of overwhelming circumstances." Music journalist Maria Raha expressed a similar sentiment in regard to the band's significance to third-wave feminism, stating, "Whether you love Courtney [Love] or hate her, Hole was the highest-profile female-fronted band of the '90s to openly and directly sing about feminism."
While Rolling Stone compared the effect of Love's marriage to Kurt Cobain on the band to that of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, they noted that "Love's confrontational stage presence, as well as her gut-wrenching vocals and powerful punk-pop songcraft, made her an alternative-rock star in her own right." Author Nick Wise made a similar comparison in discussion of the band's public image, stating, "Not since Yoko Ono's marriage to John Lennon has a woman's personal life and exploits within the rock arena been so analyzed and dissected." The band has been cited as a major influence on several contemporary artists, including indie singer songwriter Scout Niblett, Brody Dalle of the Distillers and Spinnerette, Sky Ferreira, Lana Del Rey, Tove Lo, Tegan and Sara, and the British rock band Nine Black Alps. The band ranked at #77 of VH1's 100 Greatest Hard Rock Artists.

I'm smarting
He's stupid
I'm smarting
I want my baby
Where is the baby?
I want my baby
Rose white, rose red
Rose up in my head
Rose white, rose red
Yeah yeah
I want some
Yeah yeah
There is none
I want my baby
Where is the baby?
I want my baby
There is a baby
There is no milk
There is no milk
There is no milk
There is no milk
Rose white, rose red
Rose up in my head
Rose white, rose red
Aww
Aww
She lost all her innocence
Gave it to an abscess
She lost all her innocence
She said, I am not a feminist
It's not yours fuck you
There is no milk
There is no milk
There is no milk
There is no milk
There is no milk
The lyrics above are from the song "I Think That I Would Die" by the American rock band, Hole. This song was included in the band's second studio album "Live Through This" which was released in April 1994, just four days after the death of lead singer Courtney Love's husband Kurt Cobain. The song talks about the loss of a baby, and the emotions that come with it.
The song begins with repeating the lines "He's stupid, I'm smarting" which emphasizes that there's a difference between two people in a relationship, and one of them seems to be lacking in intelligence. This may represent a power struggle within the relationship. Courtney Love then sings, "I want my baby, where is the baby?" which shows that she is desperately looking for her child. The following line, "Rose white, rose red, rose up in my head" is an allusion to a popular fairy tale where there are two sisters, one with white hair, the other one with red hair. This might represent the internal conflict between Love's feelings of being lost and confused.
The chorus of the song continues with the repetition of "I want my baby, where is the baby?" to again stress Love's desperation to be reunited with her child. However, there is a sense of hopelessness, as she sings "There is no milk" repeatedly. This could indicate that her child is unable to survive without it, which makes her feel all the more helpless.
The lyrics "She lost all her innocence, gave it to an abscess" reflect on a difficult or traumatic situation that Love may have gone through. She then sings "She said, I am not a feminist, it's not yours fuck you" which could possibly be a message to someone who might have wronged her, perhaps someone who abandoned her when she needed them the most.
Overall, the song is intense, and speaks about the loss of a child, the helplessness that comes with it, and the struggle to find some hope and empowerment in the aftermath.

@Praise___YaH
Here is the Original Semitic Text. HERE is The REAL Savior
YaH The Heavenly FATHER HIMSELF was Who they Crucified for our sins and “HERE IS THE PROOF”
From the Ancient Semitic Scroll:
"Yad He Vav He" is what Moses wrote, when Moses asked YaH His Name (Exodus 3)
Ancient Semitic Direct Translation
Yad - "Behold The Hand"
He - "Behold the Breath"
Vav - "Behold The NAIL" <— YaH’s Crucifixion
He - "Behold the Breath"
“Behold the HAND that Beholds The NAIL”
PROVES - YAH The Heavenly Father HIMSELF was Who they Crucified
That is EXACTLY what Moses Wrote
Here is what they mean
YaH's Name:
(Ya)d + (H)e, as YaH is what Moses called Him and YaH Declared: "this is My Name, this is My Name for all generations" (Exodus 3)
YaH is The Creator:
Yad He, (HAND BREATH), as YaH's "HAND" Formed man from the dust of the Earth and His "BREATH" made him a living being (Adam)
YaH's Sacrifice of Crucifixion:
Vav He (NAIL BREATH), the "NAIL" through YaH’s "HAND", that whosoever shall call YaH Savior, His “BREATH” brings forth life (Salvation)
How YaH arrives:
YaH arrives via the Tent of Meeting (Exodus 33:7:11, Isaiah 54, 55), where a Tent is erected outside the city, a cloud descends upon the entrance of the Tent and YaH appears...
Why they demanded YaH to be Crucified:
YaH was Crucified according to Hebrew law (Deuteronomy 21), to be Hung on an Almond Tree for BLASPHEMY as it was for His NAME they demanded Him Crucified. The Messiah claimed He was YaH...
HE WAS YaH!!!
HalleluYAH “Praise ye YaH”
From The Hebrew Book of Isaiah, The Dead Sea Scrolls
Isaiah 42:8
"I am YaH; that is my Name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols.
Isaiah 43:11
I, I am YAH, and there is no other Savior but Me.
Isaiah 45:5
I am YaH, and there is none else.
