Ballad of a Hero
Hollywood Nobody Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There was a man called himself a hero
He flies into the blue, blue sky
Saving souls and breaking hearts
Everybody adores him, give him a hi-five

He said in his loneliness, speaks distinctly
"there's no one in this town, who doesn't need me!"
And he flies again
Save another soul, Breaks another heart

There was this girl he met right there in the crowded
He captured her right away and he fell in love in second
There was this girl he met right there in the crowded
He captured her right away and he fell in love in second

He tried every way to please her
But the girl doesn't seem to be happy at all
He did everything to make her smile
But the girl don't really care

She just seemed not to care at all
She just seemed not to care at all
There was this girl he met right there in the crowded
He captured her right away and he fell in love in second
There was this girl he met right there in the crowded
He captured her right away and he fell in love in second

There was this girl he met right there in the crowded
He captured her right away and he fell in love in second

Overall Meaning

The Ballad of a Hero by Hollywood Nobody tells the story of a self-proclaimed hero who flies into the sky to save souls and hearts, adored by everyone who knows him. He speaks of his loneliness and insists that nobody in the town he serves can do without him. Yet, amidst all his heroics, he falls in love with a girl he meets in a crowded place. He tries hard to please her and make her happy but she remains indifferent to his efforts. The song talks about the irony of a hero who cannot win the love of the one he loves.

The lyrics of the song can be interpreted in different ways. One interpretation could be that despite his heroics, the singer is still human and longs for love like everyone else. He may be able to save souls and break hearts, but he still lacks the ability to make someone fall in love with him. Another interpretation could be that heroism can be a lonely and unfulfilling path. The hero's pursuit of love and acceptance shows that he is not immune to the need for human connection and affection.
