After Chris Weber was fired from the group, then Road Crew guitarist Slash and drummer Steven Adler were brought into the group. At this point, apparently due to the firing of Weber, Izzy Stradlin left the group to join London (a group which coincidently featured both Slash and Adler). The group eventually disbanded in 1985.
Axl Rose decided to form a new group with L.A. Guns guitarist Tracii Guns, bring in Hollywood Rose guitarist Izzy Stradlin as well as L.A. Guns bassist Ole Beich and drummer Rob Gardner. The group was named Guns N' Roses (combining the names of L.A. Guns and Hollywood Rose) but Tracii Guns soon departed the band, replaced by Slash, along with Beich and Gardner who were replaced by Duff McKagan and Steven Adler.
Chris Weber, who went on to form the moderately successful post-grunge group U.P.O. in 1997, sold the original 5 song demo to Cleopatra Records who then released them as a CD titled The Roots of Guns N' Roses in 2004, which featured, along with the original 5 songs, remixes by guitarist Gilby Clarke (Guns N' Roses) and Fred Coury (Cinderella, London) who filled in for Steven Adler for a few GN'R shows. The CD also featured Tracii Guns, who provided guitar overdubs on some of the Gilby Clarke remixes.
Reckless Life
Hollywood Rose Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You know I've got no need to control
Livin' with the danger
I'm always on the edge now
With million dollar visions that I hold
Livin' like this never ever
Tore my life apart
I know how to maintain
On a holiday, a permanent vacation
I'm living on a cigarette with wine
I'm never alone 'cause I've got myself
Yes, I imitate myself all of the time
Livin' like this never ever
Tore my life apart
I know how to maintain
'Cause it's comin' from my heart
I lead a reckless life
And I don't need your advice
I lead a reckless life
And you know it's my only vice
Reckless life
I lead a reckless life
I lead a reckless life
And you know it's my only...
Reckless life
I lead a reckless life
I lead a reckless life
And you know it's my only...
Hey, hey, yeah!

@@kuhanblock9380 I know. Yea he was somehow able to mix his naturally baritone voice into that scream. To me and many it was the best thing ever. Cant fault him for that.
Maybe the real reason why he wanted to change GNR’s style in around 1992 was to retain his voice? He knew he couldn’t keep that style up. Plus in 1992, we all know what music started to take off.
To me though, GNR, especially in Appetite and in Lies, was a band that was so unique because it was the only “Hair Metal” band to really have a large influence of blues and even outlaw. I always thought those two albums and even a few songs on Use Your Illusion were basically a mix of AC/DC, Motley Crue, Johnny Cash, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and maybe ELVIS!
There ABSOLUTELY would have been room for their genre if they kept that style up! Sad.
Now they’re out there 30 years later with major stadium tours playing the same stuff from 35 years ago with some of their new crap sprinkled in.

All of us guys that were skateboarding teenagers in the early 00’s will know this song along with many other rock songs from the 80’s. Our dads grew up during that time and turned a lot of us onto good rock n roll. Back when skating was punk rock!
@cezardido4125
imagine the impact of a skate video like this (baker 3) with all the soundtrack that comes with the video, and many others from the time, having a huge influence on me in a small town in the south of Brazil at the age of 13, along with the arrival of the internet here, it's a lot influence and i am very fucking thankfull
@hitcan79
I fucking love this version of reckless life! I've had it on my mp3 player for like 2 years now!
