The Sign
Holy Sagga Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

[Queiroz/Carlo]

Walking down the park
Cold wind blows against the faces
Living all alone
Every day a broken heart
Feels the fire and crumbles down
And tomorrow I'll never know...

You may find in the streets what you want
So take care, now your life is in my hands
Crime and violence (are) in every place where I go
The city cries for souls and people die without a chance
[Bridge:]
You must fight another day and try to stay away from here
Passion and pride I never had, you need to set me free

[Chorus:]
Can you see the sign of end of times, my friend...?

Overall Meaning

The first verse of Holy Sagga's song "The Sign" portrays a lonely and desolate atmosphere as the singer walks through a park on a cold day. The wind blows against their face, emphasizing their isolation and adding a cold and harsh feeling to the scene. Living alone and with a broken heart, they feel the fire within them slowly crumbling down, which can be interpreted as a lack of motivation or willpower.

The second verse shifts towards a warning about the dangers of the streets, with crime and violence being present everywhere. The singer holds their life in their own hands, and must be careful of their surroundings. The city itself seems to cry out for help, with souls being taken away without any chance of survival. The bridge focuses on the importance of fighting another day and trying to stay away from the dangerous areas, while also acknowledging that the singer themselves lacks passion and pride, and needs to find a way to set themselves free.

The chorus repeats the main question of the song: can you see the sign of the end of times, my friend? This line can be interpreted in a number of ways, but at its core is a warning or plea for help, perhaps acknowledging the current state of the world or the dangers of society. Overall, "The Sign" seems to offer a message of caution and awareness, highlighting the importance of taking care of oneself and looking out for others in a world that can be harsh and unforgiving.

great band...I had wanted to share this for a few like minded metal friends..but it won't allow me to for some reason. the album reminds me of early Highlord...and "when the aurora falls" is a classic from them.
