Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne

For auld lang syne my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll take a cup of kindness yet
For auld lang syne

And here's a hand my trusty friend
That gives a hand to thine
We'll take a cup of kindness yet
For auld lang syne

For auld lang syne my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll take a cup of kindness yet
For auld lang syne

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Home Free's rendition of "Auld Lang Syne" talk about the importance of remembering old friendships and connections. The first verse inquires if old friends should be forgotten and never remembered again. It serves as a reminder that people may grow apart or lose touch over time, but it doesn't mean they should be forgotten entirely. The chorus repeats the phrase "For auld lang syne," which means "for old times' sake."

The second verse reinforces the idea of celebrating old memories and friendships. It mentions taking a cup of kindness, which is a metaphor for a toast or a celebration in honor of old times. In the final verse, the singer extends a hand to their friend as a gesture of connection and camaraderie. The song, overall, is an ode to old friendships and the memories that come with them. It encourages people to reach out to old friends and celebrate the connections they once had.

erik lamela, here are the correct lyrics.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp!
and surely I’ll be mine!
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
We twa hae run about the braes,
and pu’d the gowans fine;
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary foot,
sin auld lang syne.
We twa hae paidl’d i' the burn,
frae morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar’d
sin auld lang syne.
And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere!
and gie's a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll tak a right gude-willy waught,
for auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp!
and surely I’ll be mine!
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

Motivational Monday 52
Auld Lang Syne by Home Free

Happy last Monday of 2019!

It’s hard to believe we’re finishing another year. It’s not only the end of 2019, but the end of the third year for Motivational Monday.

As we come to the end of our year and get ready for 2020, I’d like to ask you to reflect back on the year.

I am grateful for all the good and the bad the year brought. It may sound strange to be thankful for the bad things but I’m a firm believer that something good always comes out of the bad. At the very least, the bad things can create good learning lessons for us. It’s all in how we look at the situations we go through.

This year I’ve learned a lot. I’ve continued my journey of gratitude and looking for the positive. I’ve been able to change my perspective so it’s easier to see the good. I’ve continued to learn my limits so I know when I need to make time for myself and pull back from things. I’ve forgiven myself when I need to take breaks for my physical or mental health. I’ve learned what it means to love myself and be my own cheerleader.
I do what I can when I can and have learned to accept that. I have learned to talk to myself like I would to a friend I love.

As you reflect on your year, my wish is you see all the positive ways it has affected you.

This may be the end of 2019, but 2020 is a few days away.

A brand new year; 365 new days for your story to unfold.

I intend to bring the New Year in by writing a special Motivational Monday on Wednesday. I hope you’ll join me for the New Year.

Rosie Hendrix

I couldn’t forget the most nostalgic day of my life, December 31, 2018.

Spent the night at a hotel, room’s small but very comfy looking out of a sitcom.

With my parents, sister and my awesome uncle and two aunties.

We went to the top floor of the building to watch as fireworks blew beautifully over the city.

Some kid was playing Bohemian Rhapsody on his speaker.

I saw my grandma send me this song... could never have been more beautiful.

I’m a professional classical bass-baritone singer, and I have to tell you that you guys are by FAR my favorite vocal group and this is the most gorgeous Auld Lang Syne I’ve ever heard. I’m not a fan of listening to the same songs over and over again, but I CANNOT stop listening to this! Simply gorgeous, guys!

Hello jake. How are you doing?

@johntucker4296

Yup. IMO, Pentatonix/the sing-off brought acapella into the mainstream and were #1, but Home Free has taken over the top spot with their arrangements, raw talent with harmonies and ad libs, variety of genres, and just a friendly way about the members.

@jeffreyjacobs390

INDEED ! None like them ! Talent like God planned it !

@_iamforever3081

@JakePenick same here. I can't count the number of times I've listened to this. ❤

A cup of kindness would be awesome everywhere

Hello Justin. How are you doing?

@jsemplefelton5348

Wrong words. Look up Robert Burns.

@II-V-I

I'm a hearing aid specialist in Germany and this track is the first music I show my clients after fitting their hearing aids. So that is the first music they listen to with their new "ears".
Every and I mean every single person was saying "wow, those guys are good" or something along those lines. And here and there I see a little tear shimmering in their eyes 😊
