All the Time
Hometown News Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

All night long I felt your arms around me
I thought I smelled your perfume in the air
I woke to find that I was only dreaming
But I called your name just to see if you were there
I'd like to call you but I'm late for Santa Fe
Your picture's on my dashboard and I'm on my way

All the time is the only time I think about you
All the time is the only time I think about you

When I'm behind the wheel on this old highway
Or laying over in some little town
Or sitting all alone in a dim lit cafe
The thought of you always seems to come around
It's good to hear your voice but I've gotta go
Before I hang up girl I want you to know

All the time is the only time I think about you
All the time is the only time I think about you

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to “All the Time” by Hometown News capture the feeling of longing for someone who is far away. The song is about someone who can’t stop thinking about a lost love, even though they know that they can’t be together. The first verse describes a dream that the singer had, where they thought that their former partner was back in their arms. But upon waking, the reality that they were alone set in. The second verse shares some examples of situations where the singer is reminded of their ex- driving on the highway, spending time in an unfamiliar town, or even just sitting alone in a café. Despite the distance, the singer’s love remains strong and they are constantly thinking about their lost love.

The chorus, “All the time is the only time I think about you,” emphasizes the singer's fixation with their former partner. The use of repetition emphasizes the emotions and strengthens the message of the song. It’s clear that the singer is trying to move on, but their feelings for this person are just too strong to ignore. The song captures the feeling of being torn between moving on and longing for a past love.

I can’t be the only person shock he sent the other Kelsey home and kept Rachel

@adwoamk8918

Not at all he had no real chemistry with Kelsey, he is so relaxed and chilled around Rachel.

@jenniferhansen3622

I didn't think anything of it.

@rgillette1205

Love Rachel. She's so beautiful and kind

@Debi61

He’s liked Rachel from the beginning

@db338

I honestly believe that all the leads know who they are picking at this point. So order really doesn’t matter. I’m guessing Jenn and Kelsey’s family dynamics played a role in why they were sent home before HTD.
