Everything About You
Honkey Dorey Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

(Go! x4)
Come with me, follow me
To the place, where, you will lie
Follow me, come with me (yeah)
To the place, where, you will surely die!

Everything about you gets inside
My fucking head
And its wrapped around your finger
And it makes me wanna make you

Go! go! go! go!

Overall Meaning

The opening lines of Honkey Dorey's song "Everything About You" are quite ominous and somewhat disturbing as they talk about following someone to a place where they will surely die. The rest of the song, however, takes a different turn, as we see the singer becoming obsessed with someone to the point where everything about them is consuming his thoughts. He can't get this person out of his head and it seems like they have complete control over him. The repeated "go" at the end of the chorus almost feels like a desperate plea for release from this obsession.

The lyrics can be interpreted in a number of ways, perhaps as a commentary on the power dynamics in certain relationships or on the dangerous effects of obsession. The juxtaposition of the violent opening lines with the rest of the song also raises questions about the reliability of the singer and whether we should be taking his words at face value.

Overall, "Everything About You" is a haunting and unsettling song that explores the darker aspects of desire and obsession.
