Former members of the band include Peter Stoia on lead guitar from 2010 to 2011, Veg Crash McCoy on bass from 2011 to 2013, Nikki Klein from 2010 to 2014, and Stefan Kehlenbach on trumpet from 2013 to 2014.
OUTATIME

To faithlessness and a punk rock band
I didn't think it'd all go by so fast
Community service and late night shows
I'm not sure where my time goes
I didn't think it'd all go by so fast
It goes by so fast
Or you can just go
My high self esteem's hit an all time low
It seems once again
That I've lost a friend
My mind's in the red
Here's what I said
Where has everybody gone?
They're missing out on all my songs
I think I'm doing something wrong
There's no one left to sing along
Somewhere along the way I lost it, yeah
'Cause I didn't think it'd go by so fast
I used to be first but now I'm last
And I used to think that I had some class
One second here, now it's all in the past
'Cause I didn't think it'd go by so fast
If I was out there, I know I would not last
And I used to think that I had some class
One second here, now it's all in the past
So hand me a pen
I'll write down these words
Put my thoughts on paper so you can be sure
If it happens again
You won't lose a friend
With means to your ends
Here's what I said
Where has everybody gone?
They're missing out on all my songs
I think I'm doing something wrong
There's no one left to sing along
Maybe that's the way I want it, yeah yeah yeah
'Cause I didn't think it'd go by so fast
I used to be first but now I'm last
And I used to think that I had some class
One second here, now it's all in the past
'Cause I didn't think it'd go by so fast
If I was out there, I know I would not last
And I used to think that I had some class
One second here, now it's all in the past
So look at me now
What do you see?
I'm everything I want to be
Did I fail?
Did I succeed?
I didn't turn out perfectly
I fought the bullshit
I fought the smears
I wrote these songs for my own ears
That ticking clock's what I most fear
We're out of time I'm sorry dear
'Cause I didn't think it'd go by so fast
I used to be first but now I'm last
And I used to think that I had some class
One second here, now it's all in the past
'Cause I didn't think it'd go by so fast
If I was out there, I know I would not last
And I used to think that I had some class
One second here, now it's all in the past
'Cause I didn't think it'd go by so fast
I used to be first but now I'm last (I'm sorry, dear)
And I used to think that I had some class
One second here, now it's all in the past (I'm sorry, dear)
'Cause I didn't think it'd go by so fast
If I was out there, I know I would not last (I'm sorry, dear)
And I used to think that I had some class
One second here, I'm sorry, dear
The song "Outatime" by Hooray for Our Side talks about the passage of time and how we sometimes don't realize how quickly it goes by. The opening lines of the song mention "suburban homes" and "community service," representing the singer's suburban upbringing and involvement in community service projects. However, as time goes on, the singer also mentions "faithlessness and a punk rock band," suggesting a shift away from traditional values and towards a more rebellious lifestyle.
As the song progresses, the singer admits to feeling a sense of isolation and loss, wondering where everyone has gone and lamenting the fact that no one is left to sing along. The repetition of the line "I didn't think it'd go by so fast" underscores the theme of the passage of time and the feelings of regret and nostalgia that come with it.
The final verse of the song is perhaps the most introspective, with the singer questioning whether they have succeeded or failed, and admitting that they have not turned out perfectly. The ticking clock represents the inevitability of time passing, and the line "we're out of time I'm sorry dear" suggests a sense of resignation and acceptance.
Overall, "Outatime" is a poignant reflection on the passage of time and the feelings of regret and nostalgia that come with it.
