Their style pulls equally from the hooky jangle-pop groups of the 1960s and shiny indie pop from the late '00s, like MGMT and Elephant 6 veterans of Montreal. In 2013, they released their only full-length album before splitting in 2015. They reunited in 2020 after frontman Leo Vondracek noticed a significant bump in their Spotify numbers due to their song Puppy Princess gaining traction on TikTok.

Surprisingly, the bouncy, happy tune of Outset Island fits extremely well with the more nostalgic, bittersweet tone of this. It's really something. Great remix!

it wasn't until this track that I realized that the outset island melody is one of the most affecting I've ever encountered. as of this writing, I've also only just now realized that the first five (or six) notes between Outset Island and Kokiri Forest are the same, and it's the kind of little realization that makes me feel like I don't need to know everything, the universe knows what it's doing, and it's going to be alright.

What a fun remix! It transitions the peppy, bouncy mood of the original song into a more modern pop-rock style really well. I also love the nautical sound some of the secondary instruments bring to the song--it makes it feel incredibly like beach music and evokes the maritime adventures of the source material. The vocals are also well done and, more importantly, incredibly fun. I'm on board with this remix.

I just want to say this out loud to you guys...HOT FREAKS!
I don't even know if you guys are the same group that made this song so many years ago..
in that far away 2012, you might have lost or gained band members don't even know. but this song has accompanied me in the lowest points of my life and the high notes.
When I didn't know if I was gonna make it through another day or felt like I wasn't gonna make I tuned back to this song and pushed myself through.
IM NOT exaggerating by saying that it might have saved my life a couple of times.
I've listened to this uncountable times and their lyrics have meant so many different things through the years. nowadays it's mostly nostalgia that comes to me listening to this and wishing that i could tell my younger version "chill dude you r gonna turn out great, everything is going to work out"
I'm eager to show this to my own kids when they grow up!!
TLDR. I owe you guys so much.. and was happy when found you guys resumed making music....thanks for everything from a random in Mexico. truly Thanks!..

At first, a Zelda song with words just seemed weird, but after I heard this a few times on Radio Hyrule, I really started to love the meaning, not to mention how catchy it is. I think this is my favorite song now xDD I listen to it like ten times a day, and am always singing it under my breath. It's just fantastic!

While im not a fan of the current oc "trend" to add lyrics to every single remix (with male vocals more often than not sporting very dubious performance qualities) this one is nonetheless darn good! Garage band indie that thankfully for once doesn't take itself to seriously and the sunny summer breeze feeling translates so well to the windwaker outset island care-freeness

Actually, none of them: "Across the continent, we'd go on adventure... [and later] She was by my side when I first saw the ocean..." Neither would apply to Wind Waker Link. Not to mention: "The windows shaking, the power goes out" (ordinary houses are not wired for electricity in any Zelda game, only some of the dungeons are)

Uermmm..it's a guy. I nearly 'insta-exited' as soon as I heard lyrics as well - thankfully I didn't because this is now one of my favorite songs, let alone favorite remixes. It's structured very well, and for the style of the song it wouldn't make sense to NOT have lyrics. I'd love to see it performed live!!

About the song: I love it! I play it almost all the time. Now throwing in my two cents. If you ask me, if a remix with vocals is done right (like this, "Prayer", remix of OoT's Forest Temple, and "Ska Buffet", remix of Gourmet Race), its better than most songs without vocals. While I greatly enjoy remixes without vocals, I would love to see good quality vocal remixes in the future.
