The pain that I feel inside
And the way that you talk just makes me nervous inside
And the way that you walk
Won't you come over tonite
Well you take most everything
And fake it all the time
The lyrics to "Low" by Hot Rod Circuit deal with the struggles of hiding emotional pain and vulnerability, as well as the anxiety that can arise from social interactions. The singer is trying to mask their inner turmoil, but the way someone else talks and walks makes them feel uncomfortable and exposed. They're reaching out for comfort and connection, inviting that person to come over, but they also recognize that many people put on false fronts and pretend everything is okay when it's not.
The repetition of the word "low" throughout the song could be interpreted in a few different ways. On one hand, it could refer to feeling emotionally low or depressed. On the other hand, it could reference the musical term "low" as in a low note or bassline. The low tones used in the song's instrumentation could be meant to underscore the feelings of sadness and heaviness expressed in the lyrics.

Your gait
Won't you come over tonite
Would you be so kind as to visit me this evening?
Well you take most everything
You appropriate nearly all
And fake it all the time
While incessantly feigning
