Soon after, the rest of the band formed The Draft, and released their debut record, In A Million Pieces, September 12, 2006 on Epitaph Records, along with various 7" vinyl records on No Idea. Ragan has opted for a solo-acoustic act with No Idea records, releasing a monthly vinyl to prelude a full studio album, as well as two live discs. After that, they played at the Groezrock festival in Meerhout, Belgium in May 2008.
During 2009 Hot Water Music played a bunch of concerts in the U.S. plus a short German tour in November.
Since 2010, the band has continued to tour, write and record new music including 2012's album Exister and 2017's Light It Up. In November 2017 Chris Wollard announced that he was taking a break from the band to focus on his health. The band continued to play previously booked shows with The Flatliners' Chris Cresswell and Chris DeMakes of Less Than Jake filling in for Wollard at several dates.
As of their 2019 25th anniversary tour, Cresswell was still filling in for Wollard on guitar and vocals. Cresswell also played guitar and backing vocals on their 2019 Shake Up The Shadows EP.

I should've known better when I took the risk,
To wreck myself and to gamble while broke,
Shaking something mental at a loss for the words I'd once known.
I traded two steps forward for three steps back,
To get to know the meaning of showing respect.
I found the pedestals and burned them down,
To kill my idols and to bury the thoughts underground.
I'm hardly feeling human anymore,
Enough to drag my body from the floor.
Well I got my head up in a critical mess,
Fighting like a demon in a shell I possess.
Gnashing my teeth and speaking in tongues,
Still shaking something mental at a loss for the words I'd once known.
Something's rattling my bones.
I'm hardly feeling human anymore,
Enough to drag my body from the floor.
I'm hardly feeling human anymore,
Enough to drag my body from the floor.
Stand to hold steady now,
Take a breath and somehow,
Take a step to begin again,
After all we can only do our best.
I'm hardly feeling human anymore,
Enough to drag my body from the floor.
I'm hardly feeling human anymore,
Enough to drag my body from the floor.
Stand and hold steady now.

@UMONS Recherche & Innovation Yeah man, the first two albums he really went off. It was a big push for me since I grew up with a lot of more indie music but was always a noodler as a bassist. The first couple albums got me to pick up and start playing again.
