In addition to their full length albums and the two aforementioned split releases, Hot Water Music have also released 5 other EPs and split albums: Push for Coin (1995 - demo tape), Eating the Filler (1995- Toybox Records), Hot Water Music vs. Discount (New American Dreams) and Colors, Words, and Dreams (2002 - split with The Casket Lottery, Second Nature Recordings).
In 2005 the band took a hiatus as vocalist Chuck Ragan wanted to spend more time with his family. Soon after, the rest of the band formed The Draft, and released their debut record, In A Million Pieces, September 12, 2006 on Epitaph Records, along with various 7" vinyl records on No Idea. Ragan has opted for a solo-acoustic act with No Idea records, releasing a monthly vinyl to prelude a full studio album, as well as two live discs. As for Hot Water Music, No Idea is getting ready to release a b-sides disc later this year.

After that, they played at the Groezrock festival in Meerhout, Belgium in May 2008.
During 2009 Hot Water Music played a bunch of concerts in the U.S. plus a short German tour in November.
Since 2010, the band has continued to tour, write and record new music including 2012's album Exister and 2017's Light It Up. In November 2017 Chris Wollard announced that he was taking a break from the band to focus on his health. As of their 2019 25th anniversary tour, Cresswell was still filling in for Wollard on guitar and vocals. Cresswell also played guitar and backing vocals on their 2019 Shake Up The Shadows EP.
Sweet Disasters
Hot Water Music Lyrics

Cut all loss and walk away
What was said is done
So independence comes
And there is none the like
No more lonely souls
Under changing leaves
And no more weary wrecks
While waiting for their rest
So choice is always free
Granted nothing is but sure
Death won't set us free
Nor will misery
When we fear those worlds
We fear that we'll erode
Quickly with no control
I won't lay sick and sorely
With my soul uneasy
The ground beneath me
Is hollow, breaking up
And cracking to swallow me whole
When we get cut
It's so good to know that
Sweet disasters
Are just as precious
We fall down
To kiss the ground
And live to love and lose
All is well if all falls
At least we'll know the truth
In Sweet Disasters, Hot Water Music talks about the inevitability of change and the importance of accepting it. The song reflects on the experience of letting go of things or people that once mattered, and the need to move on in order to find independence. The lyrics suggest that although change may be difficult and painful, it is a necessary part of life, and can ultimately make us stronger.
The lines "So things are not the same, cut all loss and walk away, what was said is done, so independence comes" suggest that it's time to move on from something that has ended or changed, and to embrace a new era of independence. The imagery used in "no more lonely souls under changing leaves, and no more weary wrecks seeking harmony" highlights the idea of embracing change and moving forward towards a hopeful future. The phrase "sweet disasters" indicates that even though change can be painful, it can also provide valuable lessons and growth.
The song concludes with the lines "we fall down to kiss the ground and live to love and lose, all is well if all falls, at least we'll know the truth". This suggests that even when we are faced with difficult changes, it's important to keep moving forward, as we'll learn from the experience and become stronger.
