Before their debut, the boys began building their name by releasing a series of videos called ‘HOTSHOT VOLUMES’, and a webtoon called ‘HOTSHOTTOON’. They also had two fanmeetings, and released song covers via YouTube and SoundCloud.
On 15 July 2017, Hotshot released the single 'Jelly' with Sungwoon absent. In 2018, Hotshot released the mini-album on 15 November 2018, 'Early Flowering'.
On 30 March 2020, Starcrew Entertainment announced Hotshot's disbandment.

Objectively speaking, hotshot is one of the groups with the most well-rounded & talented members out there.
-2 of their members WON survival competitions against hundreds of contestants.
-2 of their other members also achieved high rankings on the survival shows, one of them was even crowned as the best dancer on the show (taehyun).
-ALL of them who participated on the survival shows were known to have great personalities and hard-working.
-two members debuted as the main vocalists in other groups (they’re not even the main vocalists in hotshot, can you imagine how good junhyuk is??)
