Overall Meaning

The Fellowship Reunited is a triumphant piece of music that plays during Aragorn's coronation in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The lyrics, written by J.R.R. Tolkien in Sindarin, speak of the end of the journey and the beginning of a new era. Et Eärello Endorenna utúlien translates to "out of the Great Sea to Middle-earth I am come" and sets the scene for the momentous occasion. The song then moves on to speak of the majesty of the elves and their role in the new world order. Tinúviel elvanui, the excerpt from The Song of Lúthien, is an ode to the beauty and power of the elven maiden who casts a shadow over Aragorn as he takes his first steps as King.

The music in The Fellowship Reunited is both grand and heroic, a fitting tribute to the end of a long and perilous journey. The brass and percussion sections are particularly prominent, signifying the importance and power of the moment. As the music swells and Aragorn takes his place as King, we are reminded of the strength and courage of the characters we have followed through three epic films.
