They had a run of hit singles during the 1980s and early 1990s, scoring a total of 19 top-ten singles across the US Billboard Hot 100, Adult Contemporary and Mainstream Rock charts. Their greatest success was with their number-one album, 'Sports'. Their worldwide fame expanded when their recording of "The Power of Love" was featured as a key track in the 1985 movie "Back to the Future" (in which Huey Lewis made a cameo appearance). The song became a number-one hit, and it was nominated for an Academy Award.
From a first single in 1979, the group successfully combined a pop rock and power pop (and sometimes, a blues rock) influenced backing with harmony side-vocals and Lewis' strident voice, and the band had numerous hit songs during the 1980s and early 1990s. These include "The Power of Love" and "Back in Time" (both of which were featured in the film "Back to the Future"), "I Want a New Drug", "Doin' It All (For My Baby)", "Do You Believe in Love?" "Hip to Be Square", "Stuck With You", and "Jacob's Ladder". Huey Lewis shared three Grammy awards, an American Music Award, and a People's Choice Award along with several artists for his role singing the 1985 charity song "We Are the World" as well.

Never Ending Story
Huey Lewis & The News Lyrics
Turn around
Look at what you see
In her face
The mirror of your dreams
Make believe I'm everywhere
Given in the light
Written on the pages
Is the answer to a neverending story
Ah
Reach the stars
Fly a fantasy
Dream a dream
And what you see will be
Rhymes that keep their secrets
Will unfold behind the clouds
And there upon a rainbow
Is the answer to a neverending story
Ah
Story
Ah
Story
Reach the stars
Fly a fantasy
Dream a dream
And what you see will be
Story
Ah
Story
Ah
Show no fear
For she may fade away
In your hand
The birth of a new day
Rhymes that keep their secrets
Will unfold behind the clouds
And there upon a rainbow
Is the answer to a neverending story
Ah
Story
Ah
Story
Ah
Neverending story
Neverending story
Neverending story
Look at what you see
In her face
The mirror of your dreams
Make believe I'm everywhere
Given in the light
Written on the pages
Is the answer to a neverending story
Ah
Reach the stars
Fly a fantasy
Dream a dream
And what you see will be
Rhymes that keep their secrets
Will unfold behind the clouds
And there upon a rainbow
Is the answer to a neverending story
Ah
Story
Ah
Story
Reach the stars
Fly a fantasy
Dream a dream
And what you see will be
Story
Ah
Story
Ah
Show no fear
For she may fade away
In your hand
The birth of a new day
Rhymes that keep their secrets
Will unfold behind the clouds
And there upon a rainbow
Is the answer to a neverending story
Ah

Ah
Story
Ah
Neverending story

Opens door of a sport car & let strangers enter
Doc : "Don't touch anything"
Leaves car alone to strangers thinking they'll listen to him
Stranger touches everything
Doc : 𝘰𝘩 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘵...

The power of love is a curious thing
Make a one man weep, make another man sing
Change a hawk to a little white dove
More than a feeling, that's the power of love
Tougher than diamonds, rich like cream
Stronger and harder than a bad girl's dream
Make a bad one good, make a wrong one right
Power of love will keep you home at night
You don't need money, don't take fame
Don't need no credit card to ride this train
It's strong and it's sudden and it's cruel sometimes
But it might just save your life
That's the power of love
That's the power of love
First time you feel it, it might make you sad
Next time you feel it, it might make you mad
But do be glad baby when you've found
That's the power makes the world go 'round
And it don't take money, don't take fame
Don't need no credit card to ride this train
It's strong and it's sudden, it can be cruel sometimes
But it might just save your life
They say that all in love is fair
Yeah, but you don't care
But you know what to do (to do)
When it gets hold of you
And with a little help from above
You feel the power of love
You feel the power of love
Can you feel it
Mmm-hmmm
It don't take money and it don't take fame
Don't need no credit card to ride this train
Tougher than diamonds and stronger than steel
You won't feel nothin' till you feel
You feel the power
Just feel the power of love
That's the power
That's the power of love
You feel the power of love
You feel the power of love
Feel the power of love

@@audiodood , alors ! La date de la sortie de la musique de film :
1976 , 1978 ou 1980 ?
Pas 1985 , en tous cas
Then ! The release date of the film soundtrack:
1976, 1978 or 1980?
Not 1985, anyway
@dureteheiral1793
well, should the collapse of Soviet Union thus Warsaw Pact simply not happening...
the constant and real threat of open nuclear weapons exchange between the Commie block vs NATO...
the constant and real threat of open military confrontation between two opposing blocks..
that was what made the 1980s...
the nuance and romanticism of the 80s would be still lives on... up to this very day...
IMHO,... no one really wants to live in that dark gloomy bleak of an era...
not with all those Heaven's shinigami breathing down ones neck...

1980 people: the future will be awesome
2020 people: I want to go back to the 80s
@herpderp7264
1980s - “man I can’t wait for 2020. Flying cars, a colony on the moon and hover boards
2020s - “76 genders exist, mumble rap is top of the charts month after month and everyone wants to go back and live in the 80s”
@deletvero319
I MISS LATE 70'
@LowgaenSchmidt
Bout to do just that with my high school music students. We put on a dinner show every year with pop music, and our theme is the 80s. The kids are dressing up in 80s style clothes, performing 80s music, I'm even going to far as to be Doc Brown.
@carlosalfaro001
2020: will we have a future?
@zapkvr
I don't.
@ikuep
