Huffamoose was made up of Craig Elkins (vocals, guitar), Kevin Hanson (guitar, vocals), Jim Stager (bass) and Erik Johnson (drums). This lineup remained consistent until sometime in 1999 when Erik Johnson left the band after a tour stop on the Horde Tour and quit the band. He was replaced by Chuck Treece.
The group is best known for its hit single "Wait", which reached #34 on the Billboard Modern Rock charts in 1998.
The song "Buy You a Ring", from We've Been Had Again, was used in television advertisements for J. C. Penney.
The documentary "Here Comes Huffamoose" follows the band as they make the journey from being the probable next big thing to their ultimate demise. It was screened at the Silver Lake Film Festival in 2003. In the March 2004 edition of Premiere, Cameron Crowe named it as one the best rock movies of all time. The group reunited for live shows in 2009.

You shattered my world today
And if I had a hammer
I'd nail you shut
your words may save me
Choose them wisely
Watch your phrasing
in one fell swoop
You shattered my world today
And if I was a rich man
I'd buy you out
goodbye tomorrow
Patron saint
Are here to borrow
Falling sand is soiled calling
put me in my place again
take care
I'll see you next time around
The same old story
Distant fountain sing our praise
in one fell swoop you shattered my world
The lyrics of "Shattered in 2-3" is a story of heartbreak and betrayal. The song is about someone who has had their world shattered by the words and actions of another person. The first verse of the song illustrates the emotional devastation that the singer is feeling, and the anger and frustration that comes with betrayal. The line "And if I had a hammer, I'd nail you shut," is a metaphor for wanting to shut the person out of their life forever. However, the second verse illustrates a more conciliatory tone, with the singer acknowledging that the right choice of words can help to save things. The verse "Your words may save me, choose them wisely, watch your phrasing, careful of the world you enter," demonstrates that the singer is wanting to rebuild the relationship, but needs the person to be cautious with their words, and show a greater appreciation of the impact words can have.
The third verse of the song illustrates the ambiguous nature of the relationship, with the singer referring to the person as a "patron saint," who is here to borrow. The meaning behind this is unclear, but it emphasises that the other person holds a lot of power in the relationship. The final verse indicates an acceptance that the relationship is over and that they will move on. The line "Take care, I'll see you next time around," indicates that the singer is resigned to the fact that they will encounter the person again in the future but wants to distance themselves from the negativity.
