El suave murmullo de tu suspirar
Como ríe la vida
Si tus ojos negros me quieren mirar
Y si es mío el amparo
De tu risa leve
Que es como un cantar
Ella quieta mi herida
El día que me quieras
La rosa que engalana
Se vestirá de fiesta
Con su mejor color
Y al viento las campanas
Dirán que ya eres mía
Y locas las fontanas
Se contaran su amor
La noche que me quieras
Desde el azul del cielo
Las estrellas celosas
Nos miraran pasar
Y un rayo misterioso
Hará nido en tu pelo
Luciérnaga curiosa
Que vera que eres mi consuelo
El día que me quieras
No habrá mas que armonía
Será clara la aurora
Y alegre el manantial
Traerá quieta la brisa
Rumor de melodías
Y nos darán las fuentes
Su canto de cristal
El día que me quieras
Endulzara sus cuerdas
El pájaro cantor
Florecerá la vida
No existirá el dolor
La noche que me quieras
The lyrics of Hugo Del Carril's "El Dia Que Me Quieras" speak of the power of love and its ability to bring joy and happiness to one's life. The first stanza describes the effect of a person's presence on the singer's dream: their soft sighs and black eyes bring laughter to life and heal any wounds. The second stanza speaks of the day when this person will love the singer back, and how this love will fill life with color and celebration. The third stanza portrays the night when the singer and their loved one will be together, with jealous stars watching over them and a mysterious light hovering over the loved one's hair. The fourth and final stanza talks about how love will bring harmony and music in the world, flowers blooming, birds singing, and sorrow disappearing.
The lyrics of this song are a perfect example of the romanticism present in Latin American culture. Love is treated as a powerful force that can change the world and bring joy to people's lives. The song's use of nature imagery, such as flowers, stars, and birds, adds to a dream-like quality that enhances the feeling of intense love.

Se dice que Hugo Del Carril era muy perfeccionista. Y aquí alcanza la perfección. El arreglo para la voz femenina es muy lindo también.
