In 2017, he released his debut single, "Please Don't Lie", which would become one of the biggest Danish hits of the year. The song was later included on his only full-length studio album, Juvenile, which was released in 2019.

In 2021, Hugo Helmig announced a hiatus from all music activities to focus on his mental health. On 23 November 2022, aged 24, Hugo Helmig died at his apartment in Copenhagen, Denmark.
