Faster
Human 2.7 Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

And I lied about my dreams
Truth is I'm afraid of me
The show is about to end
Without the final scene
Do you think I'll stay here
'Till you decide to look at me
Words in vain is what I did
Nothing new I haven't feel

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Human 2.7’s song “Faster” delve into the themes of risk-taking, self-discovery, and love. The first stanza sets the song’s tone of reflecting on past mistakes and taking risks to push for progress, as the singer steps into space and wonders what someone important to them would think of their actions. The second stanza adds further imagery of daring actions, such as pouring gasoline and driving away as fast as possible, implying the sense of urgency underlying the lyrical question to the listener: Do you really want to go much faster? The following lines emphasize the importance of love in decision-making, and the danger of not putting it first, as anything less than love is disaster.

The chorus shifts back to the singer’s perspective, detailing the emotional impact of a particular person on the self. They describe the other person’s presence like a wave that settles on their tongue, something they desire. The phrase “I’m a picture of a boy who likes to draw the line” creates the sense of the self as an artist, deliberately defining themselves and their relationship with their world. The lines “To find out what he’s worth / Stop and decide if you want this” show a level of self-reflection and awareness on the singer’s part, inviting the listener to do the same before pursuing something risky or potentially damaging.

The third stanza brings in additional storytelling of the singer’s perspective, as they describe feeling alone by design, potentially isolated by their drive and ambition. They ask if someone has been waiting by a phone, calling out for a connection. The final line of the stanza, “Who calls your name, calls you home,” adds another layer to the importance of name and relationship in the song, with a hint of longing and nostalgia.

@Caesar Maybe you should actually read about science before you make unsubstanciated claims. I recommend watching TierZoos Video on humans.

Generally most predatores will only go after humans if desperate or if they where forced into a situation where they came to associate humans with an easy source of food. There is a reason why man-eaters are the exception and not the rule.

Also your definition of an accurate fight does not happen in nature unless one or both sides are forced into it. Most animals will try to avoid injury if possible. So if you can threaten the opponent with injury they will leave you alone, unless you are even with that threat the least dangerous prey. And you rarely are.

And you don't see how being able to feed yourself even when injured is a HUGE advantage? Being an omnivore doesn't make you weaker. It is a definite strength.

And if humans can't survive without tools in the wild. How the hell do you think humans ever survived long enough to become the dominant species? How do you think humans survived before tools?

And do you know how humans hunt? By running after their prey until it falls over dead frome exhaustion. Do you know why humans and wolves became best friends? Because wolves are one of the few animals that can actually hold pace with us over a long time.

As for prehistoric humans, we where considered apex predatores for at least 2 million years, because next to no animals consider us food. As I said before, Polar Bears are one of the few ones. And hey, all those animals that tried are extinct now.

the reason so many people find it hard to go run is because of bad experiences associated with running, like rushing somewhere on a schedule, or being forced to run until you vomit or feel nauseous (never do this, its stupid as hell. Its your body telling you to stop right now!) bad form caused by shoes, and the heaviness of shoes making running harder.

I could barely run a mile at a scheduled track meet, in a circle around a large building complex with my heavy nikes.

easily ran a mile and a half across and around a large field for fun, without shoes, and on a hot day.

both instances I had been eating badly and not working out.

all about perspective and circumstance ;)

You also missed something!

Since all of the other animals run on four legs, that makes them way less effective endurance-wise. Let me explain: when they run on four legs their ribcage contracts with every "step" movement. That forces their lungs to compress and exhale, so basically they have to breathe with the same rythm as their running which tires them out way faster. With humans though, we run on two legs so it doesn't put pressure on our ribcage every time we take a step so we can regulate our breathing to conserve energy and effectively last longer than all the other mammals.

I think this makes sense right?

Marty Crandberry

Yeah this is definitely true, at least of people, but I think what you say about animals is totally promising too, I just have no experience with that. I have been a long distance runner, so in that way I know all about the breath regulation to catch a proper rhythm or stryde.

@Sam O Obviously. We're built to run in certain settings (depending on what youre used to) So we're better at running unless we're racing the animal in its natural habitat. Tribes that are still active today are probably better at running in the hot or cold. Aboriginal people of Australia could probably function better in the heat than someone from Alaska. If they just came from Alaska and decided to race on the first day they came, that wouldn't be a very wise choice. But yeah, I get your point and you're right.

•RavenNotSymone•

@Brendan Mc Kee Yep, which is why humans and birds are just better at running.

Sam O

@Judess 69er you're making the situation favour humans.

Make the setting in the minus 64 degree arctic winter and canids are number 1. Sweating will be useless in such settings.

Even in hot scenarios humans are not the best runners. Studies show humans persistence hunting had their highest succes when using dogs...

Salukis were made to run miles in the hot desert. African wild dogs too. We don't know the extent of their stamina because most animals get caught after being chased by an animal that can hold 35-44mph without slowing down or tiring in the hot sun😂😂😂😂

And on top of that humans are the fastest accelerating animals in the world: We are faster than a racing car in a 2 meter run :)

@Catnip nope

Your friendly neighborhood Saiyan

@Kuldeep Singh Baansal no he is right cheetahs are alot faster when they accelerate

Marc Baigrie

That's not true at all a dog or a cat alone is much faster, there's loads of video evidence on this site.

Caesar

I disagree with this..there are other animals that accelerate much better
