This Town
Human Waste Project feat. Jonathan Davis Lyrics

This town is our town, so motherfucking glam

We all know the chosen toys
Of candy girls and pretty boys
Make up that face to win the race
Life's a prick in this town
Suck my dick in this town
This town is our town
It is so glamorous
I'd bet you'd live here
If you could and be one of us

This town is our town
So fucking glamorous
I'd bet you'd live here
If you could and be one of us

Change our minds
Like we said before
We're dreamers
We're whores
Discarded stars like worn out cars
Litter the streets of this town
Litter the streets of this town

This town is our town
So fucking glamorous
I'd bet you'd live here
If you could and be one of us

This town is our town
So motherfucking glamorous
I'd bet you'd live here
If you could and be one of us

Break it down boys
Human Waste in the house
Human Waste in the house
Human Waste in the house
Hear me fucking go

This town is our town
So fucking glamorous
I'd bet you'd live here
If you could and be one of us

This town is our town
So motherfucking glamorous
I'd bet you'd live here
If you could and be one of us

This town

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "This Town" by Human Waste Project seem to be a commentary on the superficiality and emptiness of life in a glamorous city. The opening lines "This town is our town, so motherfucking glam" already set the tone for a song that celebrates the flashy and extravagant lifestyle of its inhabitants. However, the following lines suggest that behind the façade of beauty and luxury lies a reality of competition ("make up that face to win the race") and disappointment ("life's a prick in this town"). The crude expression "suck my dick in this town" seems to sum up the singer's frustration and defiance towards a system that requires them to conform to certain standards of beauty and success.

The chorus repeats the phrase "this town is our town, so fucking glamorous" as if to mock the emptiness of that statement. The singer suggests that the allure of the city is so strong that people would do anything to be part of it, even if it means sacrificing their authenticity and integrity ("change our minds like we said before, we're dreamers, we're whores"). The metaphor of "discarded stars like worn out cars litter the streets of this town" adds a note of sadness to the song, as it implies that the glamour and fame are fleeting and ultimately unfulfilling.

Overall, "This Town" is a bitter and cynical take on the idea of the American Dream, as it exposes the dark side of the pursuit of success and fame. It also highlights the pressure that society places on individuals to conform to certain standards of beauty and success, at the cost of their own identity and happiness.

This track was released by Human Waste Project in 1993, before Korn's first album. It was later added on HWP first demo album that was released in 1994. Aimee Echo will forever be known as the underground indie queen.
