FIGHT
Humble Braggers Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But I’ll bare it,
And if you know the truth,
You’ll spill it
Gotta come help me out,
But I’ll fight It,
Don’t you let me down.
I’m holding on tight,
I won’t lose,
Gotta break out tonight,
Gonna find you
Gotta come help me out,
But I’ll fight It,
Don’t you let me down.
I don’t buy it
Gotta come help me out,
But I’ll fight It,
Don’t you let me down.
I don’t buy it
The opening verse in Humble Braggers' song "Fight" appears to be about a situation where someone is holding back the truth. The singer acknowledges that there's something bothering the person, and they seem to be struggling with their emotions. However, despite this, the singer asserts that they will handle it and wait until the person is ready to speak out about what's on their mind. The second line of this verse almost seems like a warning or challenge that if the truth is not spoken, the singer will reveal it themselves.
Moving forward to the chorus, it seems like the singer is addressing someone who they need help from. They're clearly in some kind of trouble and need support, but they don't want to simply rely on the help of others. Instead, they're going to fight alongside their helper and refuse to give up. The line "I don't buy it" is repeated several times, indicating that there's some level of distrust with the person they're addressing or perhaps there's some hesitation in asking for help in the first place.
Overall, the lyrics of "Fight" explore themes of trust, struggle, and the human desire to fight for what we believe in. The singer recognizes that sometimes we need help from others, but that doesn't mean we should simply relinquish control. Instead, we must be brave and determined, just like the singer, to face our problems head-on and come out victorious.
