Sonic Adventure is one of the few times that them being experimental with the franchise, actually turned out successful.
This song just brings back so much nostalgia that I feel comforted by a familiar feeling every time I listen to it.

I just don't understand why Sega couldn't stick with Sonic's style of gameplay in SA1 and 2 in the later 3D games. Only problem with it was that they should've mapped Sonic/Shadow's different moves to different buttons instead of just B. Other than that, this setup IMO was the best 3D setup for Sonic

That, and the overall aesthetic. The entire game oozes attitude, from the highly stylized art to the diverse and pleasing music. The writing, story, and characterization are amazing too. If every Sonic game adhered to these principles, I don't think they'd be half as bad. Even if they were not good games, you could at least appreciate the art, writing, and music.

I'm sure I'm not the only one when I say that I absolutely adore the soundtrack of Sonic Adventure 2 (add Battle for me; I have the Gamecube version), and this track is one of my favorites. Hell, it might be one of my favorite video game songs ever.

It's just that the game feels years older then when it was released, 'alot' of things were clearly lazily done or rushed, it just had a bland stale taste to it when the appearance and charm led you to believe it's something better. Sonic has always been that franchise that you need imagination to enjoy, which is why all the people who love sonic hated the game Shadow the Hedgehog. Alot of them claimed it was Nintendo trying to be 'badass' or etc, and it's because at the worst of the stereotype they're paste eating ADHD casuals. Don't mind the crude exaggeration of course, and i'm only talking about modern games.
