Every little river, running through your mind
You give and you take, you come and you go
You leave me here wondering if I'll ever know
How much you care or how much you don't
Whatever you need, whatever you want
If you're gonna be somebody's heartbreak
If you're gonna be somebody's first time
Somebody's last time
Baby be mine
If you're lookin' to be somebody's just friends
A little laughin', a little lovin', never callin' again
That's just fine
If you're gonna be somebody's heartbreak
Be mine, yeah
Oh, be mine
Well, I guess that all I'm trying to tell you
Is for a minute with you, is better than two without
Oh, I won't be a fool, but I can't play cool, so, I'm playin' it safe
And I'm breakin' the rules
I'm wishin' I had what I know that you got
So if you're comin' my way, then please don't stop
If you're gonna be somebody's heartbreak
If you're gonna be somebody's mistake
If you're gonna be somebody's first time
Somebody's last time
Baby be mine
If you're lookin' to be somebody's just friends
A little laughin', little lovin', never callin' again
That's just fine
If you're gonna be somebody's heartbreak
Be mine
Oh oh oh, whoa
If you're gonna be somebody's heartbreak
Or somebody's mistake
Somebody's first time
Or their last time
Baby, be mine
If you're lookin' to be somebody's just friends
A little laughin', little lovin', never callin' again
That's just fine
If you're gonna be somebody's heartbreak
Be mine
(If you're gonna be someone's heartbreak)
Be mine, yeah
(If you're gonna be someone's heartbreak)
Oh, I'll take my chances
If you're gonna be someone's heartbreak (If you're gonna be someone's heartbreak)
If you're gonna be somebody's mistake
Somebody's first time
Somebody's last time (If you're gonna be someone's heartbreak)
Be mine
Oh, be mine, be mine
Baby, baby, baby be mine, all mine
If you're going to break someone's heart, yeah
It might as well, it might as well be mine
The song "Somebody's Heartbreak" by Hunter Hayes is about someone who loves another person, but is unsure of what they want. They want to know what the other person is thinking and feeling, but they're also cautious because they don't want to get hurt. The lyrics suggest that the person is willing to take a chance on the love interest, despite the potential for heartbreak, as they believe that spending just a minute with them is better than being without them for two. It is a theme that many people can relate to, as relationships can be uncertain and unpredictable.
The chorus of the song highlights the dilemma the person is facing. They are asking the love interest to be theirs, but only if they're not going to break their heart. They are willing to accept being "just friends" if that's what the other person wants, but they are also hoping for something more. The lyrics suggest that they are taking a risk by expressing their feelings, and they are hoping that the other person will reciprocate.
Also, the song takes on different meanings depending on who listens to it. For some, it is about the eternal hope of love, while to others, it is about the fear of heartbreak. On the other hand, some view it as a cautionary tale about the risks of falling in love, while some feel that it is an encouraging anthem about the power of love.
