Problems with the first story:

1. A 10 year old cannot hunt in New York State (the youngest you can get a resident hunting license is 12)
2. It’s not a “Sniper” rifle unless you’re in the military or hunting humans
3. Why would you wait a whole day before calling the police if you’ve just seen a decapitated head?
4. So was the point of the story that there was someone holding the head out from behind a tree? If so, what was it attached to? Someone’s arm? Or did you just see a head sticking out at a 90° angle and just assume it was a normal way of peering out from behind a tree?
5. You were deep in the woods but ran home in 5 minutes? The furthest you could live from where you were in the woods is a mile (likely much less if you’re running with hunting gear)
6. You’re telling me you honestly thought a DECAPITATED head was a normal person? There would be blood (albeit dried), the eyes would be visibly that of a dead persons and there would be a distinctly slack-jawed look to the head... either you have terrible eyesight and shouldn’t be hunting or the perpetrator made a conscious effort to scrub the head and hold parts of it in place with cosmetic alterations

It’s just a Hunting Rifle, or a 22. Long Rifle with a classic rifle scope.
22. Rifles are still the lowest caliber for hunting (because it is the lowest caliber), but a 22. doesn’t mess around, those things are MEAN.

I called BS on this story as soon as I heard that they hunted with a “sniper rifle”. Most hunters would not describe their rifles with a scope as a sniper rifle. They would just call it a rifle.

I love these stories. As someone who lived in a severely secluded area, and knowing what people do to keep travelers out of the area, these stories can be hilarious. It's so easy to scare people by doing nothing.

This first story just reminded me of the the time my kids and I went to a "nature center" or so that's what it claimed to be. It was basically just a Forrest with trails right off the Clinton river between a jail and a cemetery now the location alone freaked me out but my kids really wanted to go on a nature walk and I didn't wanna disappoint them. We had a picnic at the picnic tables there and they had a good time but I couldn't shake the feeling someone was watching us. I ignored it thinking I was paranoid. We were done with lunch and they wanted to start our walk. It seemed ok it was nice and peaceful but I really couldn't shake the feeling that we were being watched. So we get to this I guess opening in the woods where you could see the river. It was really very beautiful and we walked closer to the river I just kept looking over my shoulder feeling very uneasy. My son bent over and picked up a water bottle and handed it to me.. it was ice cold mostly full. Mind you it was like 90 degrees that day. So it was like someone had just dropped it. So I started looked around and then all of a sudden we start hearing foot steps. Now the path was clear but off the pathways it was filled with leaves and sticks and we started hearing foot steps on the leaves. I slowly and quietly told my kids it was time to go and we started walking back as we were walking back the foot steps got louder and faster at that point I told the kids to run and not look back just run to the van. And we started running I didn't look back was sure some one was behind us. I threw them in the car and sped out of there. . I don't know who or what was following us but we have never gone back and never will.

@smokescreenSA it’s not the channel that’s the problem! We can like Mr. Nightmare and his stories and still point out to him which ones have obvious issues that prove that they are just that…stories and not accounting’s of actual events! For example, you would NOT be making venison burgers out of your freshly killed deer because the meat needs to be ground up…I could have seen it if they ate venison steaks or had brought some ground venison in case they DIDN’T get a deer but not when the story is claiming that they made venison burgers on site, after cleaning the deer (which is a long process in itself), and setting up the campsite and supposedly had both the time and necessary tools to grind and cook the meat! Not believable from someone who has processed plenty of venison with her husband for both steaks AND ground venison! I actually really like the channel…the only thing I DON’T like are that there are people who use his channel and put their campfire stories forth as truth! Honestly, I think Mr. Nightmare should have a sub-channel for those stories because they’re still great stories and he’s got the amazing voice to tell them so I’d still subscribe…but I don’t want to listen to someone say “this actually happened” only to feel mildly disappointed to quite irritated that they actually think I’m dumb enough to believe them on some of these stories so I just wish they’d be honest and separate themselves. Does that make sense?

@Raul Orozco The hunter in the last story shot the guy and the killer was caught, at least in this video. I'd say the last one is a maybe true, but the first two likely aren't. I think very few stories on this channel are true, but they do give me creeps, which is what I watch them for.

As a hunter there was a time I went with my dad and we just got out of the truck and began walking to our elevated ground blind, it took some walking and I heard a bunch of crickets and owls, but one thing made me feel uneasy, I look around but nothing was there, we continued walking and my dad told me to be extra quite. When we began walker quieter I could clearly hear something behind me, I felt like I was being watched. I turn around 6.5 creed Moore rifle at my side and see a figure standing there, I go to tell my dad and when I turn back around it was gone. That thing had 2 white eyes, very tall and had very long arms, idk what it was but now I always hold my gun closer to my side.

Yea the safety is all needed to be checked, and teach him how to clean the gun after the hunting session.
I’ve never hunted but I have a shot a gun and cleaned one. It was a bolt action.
I’m also surprised that the people from the second story didn’t shoot the people straight on, I would.

Kinda strange to call it a sniper rifle instead just a rifle or a hunting rifle, especially since the Remington in question was made primarily for varmint hunting.

It is good that he taught his son safety, carried the rifles himself for the trek, and made sure the first hunt with his son wasn’t too deep into the woods.

I dont hunt but grew up around hunting families and friends. And i was like who tf uses sniper rifles. I grew up in the country so we had a piddly .22 for protection and to put down animals that came into our yard with rabies etc. It happened more than id like to admit honestly.

There was this one guy in my scout troop who decided it was a good idea to have a snack break in the porta poty in the middle of the night, he left a bag of cheese puffs in there and come morning the whole camp woke to the sound of a the scoutmaster screaming as a bear knocked it over. Turns out it went in there some time during the night and locked the door when it tried to get out.

Why refer to the Remington as a sniper rifle? It’s a hunting rifle.

The purpose of hunting isn’t necessarily “just for fun.” Recreation is part of the experience, but hunting helps balance the ecosystem. Same with fishing. That’s why the DWR enforces limits.

Where I hunt, we put our stand locations in a mailbox in the entrance way and we mark what time and our names in the stand we go to. There’s a map of the area in the mailbox too. That way if something were to happen, at least someone could find you.
