Too Late
Huntingtons Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I don't want to see you crying anymore
I don't want to hear you whining anymore
I don't want to catch you knocking at my door
Oh no oh oh no
I'm just sitting here thinking to myself
I'd rather be at home hanging by myself
I don't think that I need any of your help
Oh no oh oh no

And oh I'm tired of the aggravation
Oh I'm sick of this dumb situation
Oh I'm trying to break out but then it's

Too late I'm talking to myself
I don't need anybody else
I'm doing just fine on my own
Nobody listens to me anyway
To anything I've got to say
So why don't you just leave me alone

I don't want to see your pictures anymore
I don't want to hear your stories anymore
I don't want to catch you sleeping on my floor
Oh no oh oh no
And I'm tired of the infatuation

Oh I'm sick of this same situation
Oh I'm trying to break out but then it's

Overall Meaning

clear that the singer in this Huntingtons song, "Too Late," has had enough of the person they are addressing. The lyrics are clear in their demands: they do not want to see them cry or hear them whine, they do not want them knocking at their door, nor do they need their help. The singer is content being alone and thinking to themselves at home; they do not require any assistance or pity from the other person. The tone of the lyrics suggests that the singer has been enduring this vexing situation for a while, and they have finally come to the end of their rope.

The chorus brings out the frustration that the singer feels with the situation, with an escalating level of annoyance through each stanza until the climax of the lyrics, "So why don't you just leave me alone." They are indeed done with this circumstance and want nothing to do with the person they are addressing. The verses contain direct messages that make it clear that the singer does not want to see or hear from them anymore. They are done with the aggravation and the infatuation that has seemingly plagued them for who knows how long.

Overall, it is an excellent break-up song that highlights the frustration that someone can feel when they have had enough of a continued, toxic relationship.

they're still together?

Jane Doe

The Huntingtons are NOT a Christian pop punk band. They are a loud, live, and fast punk band!!

Jim Duccilli

Jane Doe: I have the same question. Their lyrics are more along the lines of "bubble-gum" music. Where did the Christian label come from? It's fine with me, but I just don't get it.

Mike Anderson

@Jim Duccilli I know some of the original dudes are Christian. Cliff mainly. I hate how anyone would be turned off by that though. They're not preaching in their music. They have a few mentions "Jackie is an Atheist", but they come off sillly and Ramones-ish. They're a great band! That's all that matters!!
