Intro: Nobody else
Hwa Sa Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Nobody else

No one's gonna help you
Nobody else
No one's gonna love you
Nobody else

Falling like a shooting star
There's no one at night
People tell me to be nice
I forgot how to smile
Is it time to go to bed?

Oh, Maria
Oh, Maria
Why don't you love yourself?
There's a thorn on your back
No one here, nobody here
Why don't you love yourself?

Keep a smile on your face
No one here, nobody here

Overall Meaning

Hwa Sa's song Intro: Nobody Else is a reflection of the artist's internal struggles with loneliness and self-doubt. The lyrics suggest that no one can truly help or love you except for yourself. The lines "falling like a shooting star, there's no one at night" convey the feeling of isolation even in the midst of success. The song also highlights the need for self-love and acceptance, as seen in the repeated question "why don't you love yourself?" addressed to the character of Maria.

The lyrics suggest that Maria is an embodiment of the artist's own struggles with self-doubt and negative self-talk. The reference to a "thorn on your back" could be interpreted as a metaphor for the weight of one's own insecurities. Overall, the song is a powerful reminder of the importance of self-love and acceptance in a world that can often feel isolating.

This is what solar said when hwasa has this sentimentality and fragile-ness to her. Despite of what people see her as... the strong confident hwasa, there is Maria.

This hits me more than I thought it would. She did it again.

@yogurLAPIZ

She also is younger than what she looks and people forget about it, that's what I love her for, she could behave as a bad b@ but still she shines sometimes her cuteness and fragile side, that make us remind she is young.

@shaneworksnights

@@yogurLAPIZyou're absolutely right. and that's on her showing us what duality is about. Esp when she did that vlive with wheein on the rooftop chillin and her being lil baby. You don't need eyes to see how soft she can be.

Pop can be deep, this entire album proves it. Hwasa is such a remarkable woman, the hate she receives, the fame, the vulnerabilties, the self-doubting, she convertes it into something beautiful, into art and powerful lyrics. I don't know if she sees herself as a strong woman, for going through everything she's going through, but showing her vulnerability like this is so brave, so honest. You are not only a beautiful person inside out, but also a strong woman, María <3 You're going to keep rising!
