Flicker
I-Land Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Ohhhh ohh ohh ohh oh oh
Na na na
Maybe things weren’t on girl
And they belong like uniform girl
I couldn’t wait to have you off girl
Counting all day like the clock on the wall girl
Standing tall recounting ours girl
Account like memorial
Not the only timelines crossed girl
The first steps distance furthest gone girl
Now roles reverse without karma
You can read it from my palm girl
Still, ya numbers known by heart girl
We know it’s been G from the south girl
Break things down girl or we’d see the dogs girl
Nothing’s changed I do both as you feel I’m so far gone girl
And Still so close to home when we’re apart girl

As our days dawn girl
If you let me do my part

Overall Meaning

The opening lines of I-Land's Flicker instantly draw in the listener with its hauntingly beautiful melody and catchy chorus. The song is a reflection of a once happy and vibrant relationship between two individuals that has now been strained due to distance and time. The singer voices their regrets for the things that went wrong between them, perhaps indicating that they wish they could turn back the clock and fix their mistakes.

The first verse hints at the idea that the relationship was once solid but has now become strained. The use of the phrase "maybe things weren't on, girl" indicates that a rift has occurred between the two. The lyrics hint at an imbalance in the relationship where one person was eager to take things further, while the other was hesitant. The singer expresses their frustration at wanting to move on from the past. The ticking clock becomes a metaphor for the singer's impatience as he counts down the hours until the next time they're together, which leads to the next verse.

The second verse is a continuation from the first, with the lyric "standing tall recounting ours girl." Here, the memories of the past resurface, and the singer reflects on what they have lost. The use of the phrase "roles reverse without karma" signifies that the two are now at different points in their lives, with the singer wishing they could go back to the time when they were together. This is possibly where the palm reading reference comes in when they say "you can read it from my palm girl," indicating that the relationship's future is predetermined. The closing verse is a plea to the lover to let the singer try and fix their connection, indicating that they still have strong feelings for them.

So here is my story on my i-land bias evo :
So it all started with i-land when I saw Heeseung, Jungwon and K and i was like dude is this what love at first sight means??🤔
But then through the episodes Jungwon, Jake and Sunghoon caught my attention... 😀
But when the i-land was coming to an end i loved seeing Heeseung, Jungwon and K all together always at top..... 😍
But as i-land ended my heart broke at one site seeing K not able to debut with them I cried till two weeks (night) i was heart broken.... ☹️😭
But at the same time i was happy that JUNGWON and HEESEUNG debuted TOGETHER.... 😘😍😀
THEY ANNOUNCED JUNGWON IS THE LEADER... ✨
Many heewon moments.... 🤣
K edits was where i was happy... 😀
Heeseung became my ult and jungwon is still my love..... 😍
K edits stopped coming...... 😭
After a two years.....

K DEBUTED 😍
HEEWON GETTING CLOSER ✨😍

I’m sorry but this is the best version of flicker. This was iconic. The voices, the suits, the key moments in the choreography that the members added, the whole performance in itself is iconic and anything redone by others will fall flat in comparison. This was the best rookie stage I’ve ever seen from iland.

Agree

charlottesmom:

I can hear the differences between their voices more with this version. This version is also dare I say sexier, darker and more emotional, just all around better!

C'mon, I knew Jake was gonna debut after I saw this performance, He just looked like an idol. The feel, the aura and expressions were so good.

This is my favourite performance out of all performances in I-LAND. It's just so magical, the visuals are insane, voices are so soft and calming, their voices suit songs like this soooo much.

I'm just happy that K finally debuted. The changes he made to the choreo made this performance 100x better, especially the eye contact with Jungwon. Every time I watch this before &Team is a thing, I can't help but feel sad for his talent not making it in Enhypen. But guess what, when one door closes, another will open, nobody knows when, but it will surely come. K, along with EJ, Taki, and Nicholas, is a testimony to it.
