I am seeing new things and experiencing new places for the first time which is overwhelming

The lights of the vehicles behind me are disappearing as I move farther away

this dashboard glow, we'll drive all night
The soft light from the dashboard is comforting and I plan on driving all through the night

another day away, eight days from home
It'll be another day until I reach my destination and it will be eight days since left home

Even after all this travelling there is still a lot of ground to cover, and it has been eight days since I was home

I'll travel all through the night until I'm too tired to continue

My bags are packed, my toothbrush, a photograph, postcards, an august notion, my favorite t-shirt
I have packed all my essentials, along with keepsakes, and my favorite clothing article

this distance travelled, I'm miles from home, miles from what I know
I have covered a great distance, and I am far away from everything I know

there's still so far to go
Despite all the travel, a lot of distance still needs to be covered

forever it seems won't be long enough
No matter how much time I spend travelling or where I go, it never seems enough
