Their 1993 offering Ever was marked by the return of original singer, Peter Nicholls, and was one of the first of the progressive revival of the '90s. He had previously quit the band in 1985 to be replaced by vocalist Paul (P.L.) Menel, but Nicholls' return was widely welcomed by IQ fans.
They have continued to tour and record but work on a new studio album had been delayed following the departure of keyboardist and founder member Martin Orford after 26 years in the band, however the new album Frequency was released in 2009 and marked a return to the early 80's IQ sound.
2. South Londoner IQ is a fresh-faced 16-year-old-who is putting together his own mix of bashment, grime and rap, mixing the melodic Auto-Tune flow of the likes of Popcaan with some UK grit. Having learnt his trade during a stint in Jamaica with his big brother, dancehall artist QQ, IQ has been delivering a fusion sound that’s unlike anyone else in the UK. His track ‘Tell A Paigon Try’ is a perfect example of the young MC’s talent, with hard skengman lyrics delivered in a melody that could have been one of Justin Bieber’s tropical cut.
Having dealt with some serious drama at a young age (IQ was close to Showkey and M.Dot, both murdered in gang-related beef in 2016), recent interviews have shown him to be an artist mature for his age and looking to focus on music. With plenty of unreleased tracks to drop over coming months, IQ is going to rise rapidly in 2017.
2. An AOR band from Stockholm, Sweden. They started out under the name IQ as a pure hard rock band, but changed their name to Guardian Angels.

Disregarding discipline
Should have never given in
And I really should have known
Some are born into their lives
With a need to be destroyed
It's the wrong thing on my mind
Standing in the line of fire
Innocently dumb
They're in my head and still they come
Out of nowhere
Is there something
Something more than this?
Inner tension settled with a kiss
What a time to bump and grind
What a daydream, looking back
Never a worry in the world
For the cutter in the pack
I don't understand this pain
And I never will
The scene is gone and here they are
Out of nowhere
Is there something
Something that I've missed
It's going to happen and I can't resist
If I believed a single word
I would hesitate as well
Making Heaven out of Hell
All it takes is everything
I want to raise you up and see
There's something in your eyes
But every time I try, they come
Out of nowhere
Is there something
Something more than this?
Inner tension settled with a kiss
Is there something
Something that I've missed?
It's going to happen and I can't resist
The lyrics in IQ's song "Out of Nowhere" seem to be about the struggle with inner demons and the difficulty of resisting temptation. The first stanza speaks to a time in the past where the singer should not have given in to their desires, indicating that this is a recurring issue for them. The second stanza introduces the idea that some people are born with a need to be destroyed, which the singer recognizes as a wrong thing on their mind. The third stanza describes a time of carefree naivety, while the fourth laments the presence of pain that the singer cannot understand. The chorus repeats the question of whether there is something more to life or something that they have missed, settling inner tension with a kiss.
The use of "out of nowhere" throughout the song suggests that the temptations or inner demons the singer faces are sudden and powerful, emerging from nowhere and challenging their resolve. The line "making Heaven out of Hell" could suggest that the singer is attempting to find happiness or pleasure in things that they know are ultimately destructive, trying to turn a negative situation into a positive one. The tension referred to in the chorus could be a buildup of stress or anxiety caused by battling these impulses.
Overall, the lyrics in "Out of Nowhere" are personal and introspective, reflecting on the internal difficulties of facing tempting situations and the struggle to maintain resilience.
