Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Ismael Isaac's "Magnoumako" describe the struggles and hardships of everyday life in Mali. The song starts with the repetition of "Magnoumako" which means "it's tough" or "it's difficult" in Bambara, and then goes on to describe the tough realities of life. The lyrics mention the difficulties of getting a promotion at work, the challenges of studying and getting a diploma, and the overall struggle of trying to make a living in a society where opportunities are scarce. The song also discusses the corruption and problems in the government and society as a whole, and the struggle to find a way out of poverty.

Ismael Isaac's powerful lyrics and dynamic music highlight the struggles of his people and amplify their voices. His singing style is infused with traditional West African rhythms and the song features the kora, a traditional African instrument. The song has become an anthem for many in Mali, and it continues to inspire and uplift people who are fighting to overcome the difficult realities of life in their country.

@souleymanedoukoure2329
