Before the release of 3D, the band released an EP titled Green Light, Go! and a self titled compilation of demos before being signed to Sumerian Records, where they've since remained. They also released a few Pre-Production demos of songs that would later be featured on 3D. Shortly after the albums release, Zack Johnson would leave the band and temporarily be replaced by Chris Moore, who was also featured on the bands music videos for 3-D and What This Means To Me. Johnson returned after Moore left the band due to "artistic differences" and joined the band on Warped Tour 2010.
The band released their second full-length album The End of the World Party on February 22, 2011. The album is noticeably different from 3D as it's a lot less heavy and more pop punk sounding. They played Soundwave 2011 in Australia, supported We the Kings alongside VersaEmerge in the United Kingdom, and played on the 2011 AP Tour along with Conditions, VersaEmerge, Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows, and Black Veil Brides. The band also made its national TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live performing "Glow" and "What This Means to Me."
I See Stars joined the 2011 Scream It Like You Mean It tour supporting its headliners Breathe Carolina and Chiodos, and also featuring Mod Sun, The Color Morale, and The Air I Breathe.
I See Stars released their third full-length album, Digital Renegade, on March 13, 2012. They took a heavier, more hardcore route with this release, but they still retained that electronic feel, with synthesized clean and screamed vocals. It also features guest vocals by Danny Worsnop of Asking Alexandria on the track "Endless Sky," as well as guest vocals by Cassadee Pope of Hey Monday fame on the track "Electric Forest."
Before the release of their fourth album, New Demons, which released on October 22, 2013, the band exclusively premiered their first single for the album, Violent Bounce [People Like ¥øµ] on Alternative Press and played Ten Thousand Feet live during Warped Tour 2013. On August 27, 2013, the band announced their North American headlining tour Started From The Bottom Now We Here with The Word Alive, Crown the Empire, and guests Dayshell, Get Scared, and Palisades, which started on October 29 and ended on November 24.
On July 31, 2015, the band released an acoustic album titled Phases, which featured many of their older songs reimagined as acoustic songs along with a few cover songs that were also acoustic. Jimmy Gregerson would be kicked from the band due to unknown reasons and Zach Johnson was kicked from the band as well. Devin would replace Zach as the unclean vocalist and Andrew Oliver would be moved from drums to keyboards and synth. The bands fifth album, Treehouse , was released on June 17, 2016. This album, unlike their previous two, isn't very heavy and is more chill. Acoustic versions of some songs from the album were released on April 6, 2018.
After a 5 year hiatus and Instagram account wipe, the band finally teased that they'd be releasing new material soon. According to the band on Twitter, the highly anticipated sixth album will feature more than 12 songs.
The Common Hours
I See Stars Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
To the events caused prior to this murder
Why would a good boy do something like this
Why would a good boy do something like this
This massacre
No one could've seen this coming
All it took was for them to say
Don't pack your bags cause you're here to stay
So watch your mouth around the misses
My secrets have been told
I want to reign upon thee
As my case unfolds
She screams my name
As she runs away
My hearts so vicious
You'd do the same
And she screams my name
Nothing left to say
There's nothing left here
There's nothing left home
The time to grow up is now
You just step right into this picture
Expecting things to change
It's not happening
You'll never change
You'll stay the same
You'll never change
At least not for me
The time has come for your elimination
Elimination
Your dead!
The lyrics of "The Common Hours" by I See Stars is a narrative song that follows a story, and the theme is about regret, guilt, and murder. The first verse introduces the story of a "good boy" who committed a massacre that no one saw coming. The murder was triggered by events that happened before the murder, and the song questions why someone who was considered good could do such an unthinkable act. The lyrics suggest that the boy was staying in the town for a long time, and then someone told him to stay, which may have contributed to the boy's actions.
The chorus of the song revolves around a woman who was present during the massacre, and she runs away while screaming his name. The murderer is portrayed as someone who is both vicious and weak, and the chorus implies that he is regretful of his actions. The second verse is more straightforward, as the lyrics accuse someone of not wanting to change, they say "you'll never change, at least not for me." The final line of the song is an exclamation of the murderer's death, emphasizing the finality of his actions.
In conclusion, "The Common Hours" is a complex story about a murderer and his actions, regret, and guilt. The lyrics suggest that the murderer was a good person but was somehow pushed over the edge. The tone of the song is dark and somber, and the chorus implies that the murderer is regretful of his actions.

This violent act that caused many deaths
No one could've seen this coming

All it took was for them to say
All it took was for someone to tell them
Don't pack your bags cause you're here to stay
You're not leaving, you will be staying here
So watch your mouth around the misses
Be careful what you say around the woman
My secrets have been told
My private information has been leaked
I want to reign upon thee
I want to control and dominate over you
As my case unfolds
As my situation becomes clearer
She screams my name
The woman calls out to me loudly
As she runs away
While she is escaping and fleeing
My hearts so vicious
My heart is full of malice and cruelty
You'd do the same
You would act similarly if you were in my place
And she screams my name
She continues to loudly call out my name
Nothing left to say
There's nothing more that needs to be said
There's nothing left here
There's nothing more remaining in this place
There's nothing left home
Home is now empty and devoid of life
The time to grow up is now
It's time to mature and act responsibly
You just step right into this picture
You entered this situation easily
Expecting things to change
Anticipating that things will be different
It's not happening
Things are not changing as expected
You'll never change
You will always remain the same
You'll stay the same
You will not change
You'll never change
You will always remain the same
At least not for me
But not for me, specifically
The time has come for your elimination
The moment has arrived for you to be removed
Elimination
Being removed, taken out of the picture
Your dead!
You have been killed and are now deceased

If these guys had more songs like this, they'd be my favorite band... The screamer is amazing, and they actually have really cool riffs.
