Yeah there's a rumor from a Reddit user who predicted everything from the force awakens accurately. They said that Palpatine is just a hologram. Ben began his fall to the darkside and infatuation with Vader after seeing the hologram. And the rise of Skywalker apparently refers to Luke sending a message of hope to the galaxy.

God I hope this is false and is nothing like the original film, cuz if it is, believe me when I say star wars is gonna be damaged beyond repair

If I remember correctly it was just a recorded hologram that projected after his death to whoever was in charge of the Empire after his death. The message included instructions for the Empire moving forward. I watched it on a Lets Play of BF2 and I was kinda annoyed watching the story segments cuz I thought they were pretty rough but it was Palp for sure. Basically just a death protocol instructing the Empire to dissolve and relocate to uncharted regions. It was played back on a Star Destroyer. So long story short I am guessing it’s going to be something like that. Not really the return of Palp but something prerecorded. This is my theory and all of the complicated theories of an actual Palp return I think are wishful thinking.

The theory that Palpatine is possessing pre-existing powerful Force-sensitives would match up with Tenebre/Vitiate from Legends. After Revan, the Exile, and Scourge had enough strength to challenge his original body, he began moving his consciousness into different force sensitives to act as his voice, the most notable being Valkorian, a powerful Zakuul native whose mind Tenebre entered and hollowed out in order to use him to rule over the Eternal Empire.

I think the laugh is just that. Its been thrown in there for effect, to pull at our heart strings and nostalgia. Remember a similar thing was done with the very first teaser of The Force Awakens. Luke Skywalker's voice was heard saying "The force is strong in my family. My sister has it, i have it. You have that power too." And people loved this, it led to many a fan speculating who Luke was talking to, was it Rey? And look what came of all that, Luke was not talking to Rey because he didnt even know her when she finally met him in TLJ.
So the idea would be that it was more likely a young Ben Solo who Luke was talking to when he first began to train him. But in context to the actual episode itself, The Force Awakens this line didnt mean anything.

This is EXACTLY what i mean, i see a similar trick being played here, JJ knows everyone liked the Emperor, the nostalgia feels of hearing his laugh at the end of that teaser, but in what context will it serve? Sure JJ. Abrams has said "the Empreror will appear in the movie", he did say that. But this can be in any capacity, even just as some old holo-recording of him talking about his "contingency plan". Or it could be something of a flash back to do with him and his grand plans connected to Vader.

But i think it will mostly be nothing, its all there to draw you in, capture your interest and curiosity to go and find out by paying to go see it at the cinema cause once you're there they got you. They're not going to care whether they upset a load of fans again, because they will have already made their money off the movie. Look at TLJ, that made it's money AND pissed off a load of fans in the process.

I think Transfer Essence is a thing in Star Wars canon, Palpatine managed to figure out how to return from the afterlife. He’s had three decades to plan out his big comeback, now with the galaxy in chaos just like the clone wars, Palpatine has decide to rise again and make his big end moves to finish off whatever remains of the Jedi and the Republic.

@@bowen4878 those aren't plot holes you goof, those are just unexplained, a plot hole is when you have 2 events or things that directly contradict eachother in the story, so many people throw around "plot hole" while having no idea what that actually means, and everything you just described had to do with the previous films, I'm not a fan of the sequels but at least criticize them correctly, the sequels take place 30 years after the OT, it's well known that palpatine had sith underlings in Canon and legends, knights of Ren we know who they were, just not what became of them, not a plothole, Rey being called to Anakin's lightsaber is unexplained, however that's still not a plothole

@@bowen4878 I didn't ignore that, I said it's well known palpatine had sith underlings so it could be one of them or the alternative that people can always be pulled to the dark side at any time, as well as be drawn to korriban, the 2 reigning sith Lords were gone, that doesn't mean the dark side and the potential for new sith lords to come was gone too, it happened just the same in legends, the sith were not completely destroyed nor was the empire, it was NEVER said that the sith were completely destroyed, your argument is basically "everything I don't like is a plothole" which is stupid, just because something isn't explained doesn't make it a plothole, even if it would be better for the story to explain it, it's still not a plot hole, again I don't even like the sequels but that doesn't change the fact you have no idea wtf you're talking about

Obviously part of Vader's deal from The Empire Strikes Back with Lando will be that Lando stored Emperor's bodies on Cloud City and that's why Lando's back

Wow! That's a great theory! I honestly never liked the overuse of clones in legends, so now this has the way to open up all the potential that the clones did, without that simple "easy out" solution. To have to actually find a worthy host is much more exciting.

The emperor coming back negates Anakin’s sacrifice/return to the light. I think it’s poor writing. Star Wars (The Saga) is about Anakin, Yet in Episode 6 we see the story switch from Anakin to Luke however the sequels have nothing to do with Luke. He has 30 seconds of screen time in Ep. 7, and dies in Ep. 8. Just disappointed in Star Wars. Now what would be cool is if they bring The Senate back and Kyle Ren sacrifices himself to finish what Darth Vader started as he stated he would in Ep. 7.

I love this theory I think he was some way able to bond his force ghosts to snoke with a holocron or something along those lines and It would explain how snoke says he has seen the rise and fall of empires and his ring from dearth Vader’s castle. When snoke was killed it released paladins force ghosts and allows his to return in a body that someone that praises him had been saving. Fusing with snoke was an accident and the body was weak but with his death allows him to the pick a more suitable body to become
