Behind the Curtain
Ibeyi Lyrics
Where are you now? My man, my suitor
Out of my life for good
Have you gone behind the curtain?
Be I so far, or very near, my baby just have no fear
Leaving me uncertain, I am here
Where are you now? My man, my father
Far from my life for good, or in your ivory tower
Be I so far, or very near, my baby just have no fear
Leaving me uncertain, I am here
We know to our fright, and delight
That the stars will still shine in the night
That's how you'll last for me all night
Forever in shadows, yet bright
Dear audience, sweet spectator
We're together for good
Or til I lose favour
Have you gone behind the curtain?
Be I so far, or very near, my baby just have no fear
Leaving me uncertain, I am here
Have you gone behind the curtain?
Be I so far, or very near, my baby just have no fear
I am here

Albums like this is what deserves Grammys....not Taylor Swift or Beyonce. I'm just saying. Not trying to start a riot but albums Taylor and Beyonce are commercialized whereas music like this has SO much more meaning to it. And they play their own instruments its's real talent!

Natasha, Grammy is a comercial award

I wish someone would translate their Yoruba. It's beautiful and I know it's all praise. But WHAT does it all mean?
Jose Rodriguez Lòpez
Ago Ile algo is a praise song for the spirit Esu Elegua the Orisha doors and crossroad Ago means to open and ile is home or temple. Ago Ile Ago is asking Esu to open the way between world. And Moyugba is to salute and Orisha is spirit. So it’s saluting the Orisha Esu as in saying hello to him.

In most of all their songs it means power and strength in a motion. Trust me, it's a beautiful language.
